Whats your Boats name and what does it mean to you

28 White St. which was the address of the cottage I grew up in in Duxbury Ma ,great memories ! As I was buying my boat ,the cottage was up for sale, seeing as this would be my new cottage i thought it would be appropriate .More great memories !!

This was a boat name that made me laugh, it was on a 50 ft boat that came through the marina.

"My Last Boat - 3

The three was in roman numerals.

The Admiral and I were discussing boat names and we got to talk about all the adventures and Miss- adventures we have taken with our kids. Then we saw an old Chili Willy cartoon "Escapade". We looked up the meaning and it fit! Escapade: a usually adventurous action that runs counter to approved or conventional conduct. That just about nails it!

Nograsstomo

Old indian name meaning "No lawn to cut". Boating is a whole lot better than having a cabin!

Our Sea Ray is named "Family Time". When we bought the boat last year, we named it that in the hopes that the boat would become a way for us to spend more quality time with our two toddlers. We had a good first season working on that goal. Now, just a couple of weeks ago, our two and a half year old, Ben was diagnosed with leukemia. As we work to come to grips with this life changing turn of events, we have already talked about how important the boat is going to be as we will be staying very close to home and Duke Hospital this year and so will be spending a lot of time on local Lake Jordan - just a few minutes away. Being that close to help at Duke should Ben develop a sudden fever gives us a whole new meaning to "safe boating".

Do people laugh when you get on Ch 16? The marina staff is probably on the floor rolling when you call in.

I think your next boat name should be "Gaylord Fokker" (from the movie "Meet the Parents")

we had just purchased an 01 280 DA and my wife, son and I were driving to pick it up and were coming up with names. my son (10) said lets call it "Big Money". my wife almost peed her pants laughing and when she finally caught her breath she said......"this piece of junk is barely spare change" and so she was named "Spare Change"

2 months later when we upgraded to the 340 we still loved the name "Spare Change" but the loan was not so we added "N.Q." to the name for......Not Quite Spare Change

plus we had a bunch of stuff printed spare change and did not want to throw it all away considering we had just named it 8 weeks prior!

The previous owner of my boat named it "Outside the Lines" because he owned a graphics art company. I was considering renaming it until the admiral pointed out that it was fitting for me because I typically do things my own damned way anyhow. Every once in a while someone will ask me to explain it, so I just kinda look at them and say "foul ball" with a wink. They get it.

RAB,
I am extremely sorry to hear of your distressing situation. I pray that your journey finds a healthy and happy end. An old friend of mine was diagnosed with Leukemia at a similar age and was one of the first beneficiaries of advances in medical sciences at the time. He is now healthy and 50.

As for the name of our boat, both myself and the admiral were born in 1964. I'm sure that there were many little girls named Jacqueline in that year, as my wife was, in tribute to the strength and stoicism of Jacqueline Kennedy demonstated through that trying time.

When it came time for our first boat, we toyed with many names. Ultimately I settled on "Jackie J", again reflecting on the source of my wife's name and the tie to the popular "Jackie O" moniker.

Each boat we've owned has been a Jackie J, up to and including the current "Jackie J V".

Also a hint guys...when I first bought a boat, I didn't know how it would go over with the Mrs. Naming the boat after her, smooths out a lot of bumps!

That is the name of our boat also, for the same reason.

My heart goes out to you and we will be thinking of your family as Ben goes through his treatment. My wife works in a children's hospital and se we know what you are going through. You are going to a great institution, and we wish the best for you and your family.

My boat's name is "Knot On Call" and that means, Don't call me, Don't bother me, and as a matter a fact, Don't even look at me with a sad story cause I'm off!!!

"Shell's Island"
Wife's name Michelle, aka Shelli, aka 'Shell.

Want a new boat? Name it after your wife.

Don't need a new boat.....yet. The wife is still mad I didn't get her a 340! Go figure she's the one wanting bigger...

RAB - My heart goes out to you and your family. Prayers & Blessings. Our family will be praying for you daily.

Our boats name is Lucknow. The name means exactly what it say's, however everyone asks what it means.
So, here it is.
Today, right now, we are the luckiest people in the world. We have just enough bad in our lives to make us realize how lucky we are. Every day we are able to say, Yesterday was good, today is better. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring, could be good better or worse. But right now in this minute we are very grateful for the blessings we enjoy and the Luck that has come our way at this time. Hence "Lucknow".

Carissima – has its roots in both Latin and Italian. Translation: “My dearly beloved woman”

SEA Huddle-having been a football coach for years, and a huddle is where people meet to talk about the next "play" and the fact that we do this on the water comes the SEA. The good thing about names is: I already have a name for my next boat 280 DA
