How far do you have to drive to your boat?

350 miles. Live in SoCal but boat on the CA Delta exclusively. The boat stays in inside storage, we call when we are going to arrive and the boat magically appears, serviced, detailed and in it's slip.

For me it's about two hours.. :<
For west coasters, I drive from Santa Rosa (Ca) to beyond Rio Vista..

6 hours. Leaving tomorrow at about 5:30 or so. We'll be there until Sunday.
Kids fall asleep in Yuma after a movie. If we're coming back early on Sunday, we stop at the Tastee Freeze in El Centro.

210 miles and 3.5 hours one way. we've done this nearly every weekend since 1995--mid-april through mid-Sept. I can honestly say we miss 1, MAYBE 2 weekends a summer, and many summers we've missed none. it depends mainly on funerals, as our families know and understand this is our way of life and we make it a priority. and, the 7 hrs every weekend forces our kids to talk to us, so, we know they're not on drugs.

funny thing, a guy on our dock with a pretty big boat lives about 15 minutes away from his boat. He finds all kinds of reasons to run home...mow...apptmts...and so on. I've wondered if living closer would change our boating lifestyle....

I love that you stress it as a family activity.

Totally spoiled... if I miss the traffic light... about 10 minutes to get there. There's a liquor store on the way and a gas dock 200' from the boathouse. It's so convenient... I want... no... I NEED a bigger boat :smt001

38 miles from the "city" house to the lake house. We make it nearly every weekend year round. It's our little slice of paradise.

Well based on how far some of you drive, I guess I should stop complaining about my 45 min drive. It just seems that when you live in a state with almost 12,000 lakes, it should be closer! I pass several smaller ones on my way to the one mine is slipped at, (which is over 14,000 acres) plus cross over the Mississippi.

As you will note , put top down and put under the carport and launch 1/4 mile away.

When we drive it is about 8 hours. (435 road miles). However, we go on good weather weeks. So we normally fly our little Cessna Skyhawk. Flying time is about 3 hours 20 min. About 395 air miles. Do we win the longest trip prize? We have a marina here about 12 miles from the house but we had rather be in Orange Beach, AL.

250 miles, we bought it with the intention of having it hauled back to Kansas after spending a month on the river. After the month was up the river was to high to haul it out & Perry was also to high to launch it. Spent the summer on the boat, fall got here and after talking it over with my family we decided to stay on the river. It is less than 4 hour drive, Perry was a 30 min. drive which made it much easier to check on the boat every few days during the winter. Our last day aboard was the Friday after thanksgiving we winterized all the systems & have not been back. Some of the locals & the marina staff are checking on it for me. I'am going back after the holidays and check on it and spend a couple of days if the weather permits. Plan on being back for the season in the middle of March, have a trip planned to Muscatine, Ia. for the wheels and keels show in May. If I get tired of boating on the river I'll have it moved back to Perry.

We travel 1.5 hours each way... go up every weekend from mid April to mid September... usually Friday afternoon to Sunday evening.
