They are DEEP in the bilge on both starboard and port sides. The access down there is way too small to fit into, how does one go about doing this? I know if I sit on the deck and slink my way into there I will be stuck no doubt. Why is this such a difficult task, anyone have any easier resolutions?
Hi all,
Has anyone any suggestions for wiring a twin engine boat with three house batteries so five batteries in total. I like the look of the blue sea automatic charge relay complete with battery insolation. However, I cannot find a solution for using this ACR with two engine batteries along...
We've had historically high water on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, and due to this, many marinas have had the power turned off for weeks. We took out our 2004 Sundancer 360 yesterday for a few hours to charge the batteries some (and it was a nice day!). The port motor fired right up, but the starboard...
I've seen several discussions on battery configurations, but I still don't get it. Any assistance would be appreciated greatly!
I have recently purchased a 2004 Sundancer 320DA. It has two Mercruiser 350 Horizons, with v drives. It has a 5Kw Kohler Generator, and 4 batteries. It appears...

Hey there - Attached is a picture of my 1987 SeaRay engine. I have a few questions that I was hoping you could all help answer:
1) I'm looking at getting a new alternator, voltage regulator, and starter. Any idea how much these parts should cost each? I'm located in Canada.
2) I am looking to...
Hi all, I have a new used 1997 Sundancer 330. So I went to the boat and no juice. The battery indicator on the control panel indicates port battery is dead. No juice to hatch lift or blower. No juice to start engine. I use the emergency start to access the starboard battery and start engine...
A little history.
I put my boat in the water, turned the key, nothing...
Just a faint click from engine compartment.
So I wiggle the shifter to ensure it's in neutral, try to start again, nothing.
I checked battery connections, they are tight, try ignition again, the boat fires up and runs...
First night on the hook in the "new" boat and woke up at 4 AM to a tapping/thumping sound. The frequency of the "taps" increased quickly until it was a steady hum. Traced it to the starboard cabin speaker. Stereo wasn't even on(!).
Not quite sure, but I think I opened the port battery solenoid...
Afternoon - I have a '99 340 DA, just had my batteries tested. Accessory batteries came up 57 and 63 CCA and the voltage was below 12 volts. I assume they are group 27 based on the size. Any idea what CCA or MCA I need? I know I don't need starting batteries, should I get the dual batteries...
Does any one know what's the original set up of the batteries in this boat? Currently I have 1 cranking and 2 deep cycle, I got twins 4.3L set up, any help is greatly appreciate it.
I have 2 banks (2 Port, 2 Starboard - total 4 batteries) Group 27 AGM batteries for my 2000 SunDancer CAT 3126s. 2 batteries are new, 2 are 2 years old and load test fine. Over the last few years, the engines are hard starting after I run the boat ~1 hour or more. When the boat comes off of a...
I have this boat. Need to replace the batteries but not sure if it's a 24 or 27. It's an hour drive to my boat, so I need some help. I searched the forum but couldn't find anything. I also checked the owners manual to no avail. I'm looking at the interstate ones here...
I'm considering adding a few more batteries to give me more power while I'm on the hook. I have an Inteli-Power converter/charger (not sure which model). The manual say that it is capable or managing up to 3 battery banks. Does anyone know how many batteries I can have in each bank...
I just purchased a 2004 240 Sundancer. I brought the boat home and connected the shore power to my house to charge the batteries and have power while I cleaned it out. Initially the voltage of both batteries were about 11.6v, after about 24 hours of charging they now read 13.6v. While I was...
FYI
Just repalced by Kirkland (Costco) Group 27 battery after 4 years on 1999 Sundancer 260. Repalced it with a Delco Marine Group 27 from Sam's Club.
The other Kirkland battery died last year (lasted 3 years) and I repalced it with an Advanced Auto Marine Group 27.
Let's see how these...
The previous owner of my Sundancer 290 (deceased) installed commercial truck batteries rather than deep cycle marine batteries. Any ideas why? Advantage / Disadvantage? I would think deep cycle marine would be a better choice for managing the "house" loads.
Hey Folks -
I got a battery placement question on my 215 EC. currently both of my batteries are on the port side of my engine compartment and in order to get to the lowest drain plug on that side I have to remove the rear battery. This is a huge pain! I am thinking about moving one of my...
We almost didn't take this vessel over initially due to the bypasses and work arounds but everything works, SO ...
Last visit I went through the batteries, cleaning and servicing them and tracing the wires noting their condition and whether or not they were run correctly or rerouted or bypassed...
Can someone recommend batteries for my 310? I need 2 for the boat and 2 for the inverter (they are connected in series but separate. So, the "boat" has one starting and one deep cycle, the inverter has two batteries. This doesn't mean it is correct, just looking for advice on buying 4 new ones...
