    40 sedan bridge forum

I had a Side Power Bow thruster installed 3-4 years ago and am very happy with the result. The motor was installed in the hatched compartment behind the forward stateroom bed - the charger and maintenance free batteries were installed under the bed. It surprised me to realize that the thruster...

    40 sedan bridge forum

Re: TV in Salon: Threw out old TV/VCR combo. I used a piano hinge and mounted a flat screen TV on a piece of acrylic and mounted on top of the hole on the front of the 'hanging' box as you call it (TV now swings UP.) The now empty 'box' became my liquor/ TV sat. control/electronics area. The...

    400 DB fresh water pump(s)

1997 400DB. Why are there 2 potable fresh water pumps? Each with a switch on the electrical panel,12V side? Is the duplication so that you use 1 and save the 2nd for back-up? Someone told me I should re-plumb a single new variable pump and eliminate the accumulator....any thoughts? I have...

1997 Sedan Bridge shower sump tank question

Same boat...same single sump for galley sink, head vanity sinks ,showers, AC condensers. My solution was to first tear out the lazy susan under the galley sink and re-plumb the galley sink overboard thru a new thru-hull. Whether legal or not I installed a small garbage disposal onto the enlarged...

    Reverso Impeller Replacement Part

I found out my Groco Oil Change pump has a white plastic/man made material type impeller that has removeable veins/fins (4-sell as a set) and a hub (?) that the veins fit into. Groco sells the parts (in stock). For both I recall it was near $30.00.

Impeller for Groco oil change motor - 1997 400DB

I can't find an impeller for a Groco Oil Change system in my 1997 #400DB. I assume this was SeaRay installed, original equipment. It is a rigid plastic type impeller (all the fins are worn/torn off). I've looked at the Groco web site and can see nothing that looks like it. I can't see model # on...

400 DB Water Leak in Hard Rain - Forward Head

I had exactly the same problem. My solution was to pull the Port completely out - dry it out with a heat gun - dug out the rotted wood - filled with marine-tex (or similar)- bedded the port frame and opening w/ bedding compound- installed Port - removed squeezed out bedding compound...

    400 DB Potable Water leak

I've found a drip, drip, leak above and outboard of my water pressure pumps near the accumulator back under the lazerette. The drip causes the pump to activate about every 10 minutes. While I found the general area of the leak I can not pin point the exact leak........assume it must be a...

    Twin Disc - electronic/electric controls - Synchronizer

I never have figured out how to use my synchronizer on my 1997 400SB. I do not have a manual to refer to. It was the stock/original single control arm per engine with rocker switch on electrical panel to activate. Help me if you can....I seem to be blind to the procedure that makes it synchronize.

    Mazatlan anybdy?

We spend 2 winter months in Mazatlan every year. Emerald Bay - Pueblo Bonito is a wonderful, beautiful place to stay and for a week or so is perfect. The disadvantage is that you are at the mercy of their 3 or 4 different eating choices - expensive and eventually boring. A shuttle runs to the...

Which buffing pads to use with polish/cleaner and which type pad for wax for wax.

I'm confused when to use foam and when to use cloth/wool pads when buffing/waxing my hull. My first process is a polish/cleaner by Prism. I then use a hard wax by Meguires. I use a electric variable speed machine and tend to stay in the 1500 rpm range. Any information/ tips would be appreciated.
