I turn off both water pressure rocker switches when I leave the boat for longer than a day. When I return I turn on both switches.(habit) Is it necessary to turn on both water pressure pump switches??? Could I get by with only (1) switch in the 'on' position and save the second switch for failure/backup of the one pump I had on ????? I guess I could tell by playing with it....but....with the wealth of 'knowledge' out there a quick answer would be appreciated. Thanks, Bud

You should see a definite difference in the pressure on one vs. both pumps running. THere is very little to be gained by leaving the switches off since the pumps are nearly bullet proof. Mine are original and are 17 years old. I would enjoy the 40+psi water pressure and leave both pumps running.
