I was doing a little early spring inspection on the 190 last weekend, and realized that I have a little up and down play on my Alpha 1 drive. I'm not sure if it was there before. The movement appears to be happening due to a little play in the trim ram pins, both front and rear. I found the...
The carpet on my trailer bunks is still in pretty good shape, but near the end of this year I noticed there was a little more drag getting the boat winched up that last 6 inches. Is there a treatment, either storebought or homemade that you guys use to treat the carpet on your bunks????? FWIW, I...
As I was readying to put the 190 away for the winter, I noticed that the one of the nuts that attach the fitting for the top of the hydraulic lift arm to the sunpad was loose. I attempted to tighten it down just a hair, and apparently the stud was ready to go because after an 1/8th of a turn...
I need a little detailing advice. My 1999 190 seems to be getting some fine scratches in the red "insert" portion of my gelcoat. They are very fine and not deep at all. I'm not sure what's causing them, and no amount of polishing/buffing/waxing is curing the problem. For a 10 year old boat, the...
While pulling off my prop this weekend, I realized that I have somewhere between 1/4" and a 1/2" of "in and out" play on the prop shaft on my Alpha One. There is no lateral play at all, but I can push it in and pull it out just a wee bit.
Is this normal play?

Tomorrow is the first day of spring, which means boating season up in my neck of the woods starts in just over 60 days.
I can't resist sharing a pic of me and the lovely missus from last summer. I can't wait to be doing this again:

On my 1999 190 BR, when travelling at higher speeds, the wind comes through the open bow and under the windshield, much to the dismay of anyone sitting in the middle of the rear bench. I'm surprised that Sea Ray didn't engineer in a small retractable/removal door or...
The boat in question is a 1999 190 BR.
As most of you know, the front seating configuration is comprised of two curved cushions that sit on either side of the open bow. Yesterday, while checking out a for sale ad for a similar boat, I was surprised to see what appears to be third "filler"...
I'm planning on buying the lovely wife a pair of watersport gloves for Christmas, but I hadon't know where to start. Does anyone have any feedback regarding which brands or models of gloves are best? FWIW, she like the wakeboard the best.

Hey there, fellow Canucks. Take this opportunity to introduce yourself here. I'll start:
My name is Paul. I live in Canmore, Alberta, about 15 minutes west of Banff and 1 hour east of Calgary. We have a rec property in the East Kootenays of BC, 5 minutes from Wasa Lake. Our boating time is...
Here is mine:
It's a 1989 Chevrolet V3500 4x4 w/ a TBI 454. Sized right, with power to spare. What are you guys using to tow your boat with? How do you like it?
Wow, it's good to see everyone back in one place.
Before "the other place" disappeared, I was discussing spring boating up here in the Great White North. Some of you asked me to post up some pics, so here they are. This was taken at Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park last May. Yes, it was...
