I made the executive decision to cancel our fun day on the water based on my review of the weather yesterday morning. My wife and I planned to take two other couples out to Silver Glen springs on Lake George. This lake can get real ugly real fast and has been know to produce 6'-8' swells during...
I have a 4.3 Mercruiser. I am familiar with the once a year or every 100 hour recommendation. However, I only average 30 hours a year. Do I really need to follow that interval? How bad would it be to stretch it to every two years or 60 hours?
Thanks,
As we all know, child safety always comes first on the water. I am having trouble determining which type/size PFD would be the best for our daughter. She is 2yrs. old, 25lbs, slim and slender. From what I have found most of the infant PFD's are rated up to 30lbs, and the Child PFD's are rated...
I currently have canvas snap on bow and cockpit covers that I use on a regular basis. However, the sides and other uncovered areas accumulate a lot of dust (kept in a tarped enclosure).
I was thinking about covering with a cheap polyester cover on top the custom canvas covers to keep the...
I am planning a weekend to Crystal River this year to do some scalloping. I am new to this and do not know of any good spots. Does anyone have any coordinates/locations that they would not mind sharing with me?
Maybe we can get a group of us together or something?
It's been four months since I started my boat. This is the longest I have ever waited between cranks.... However, everytime I fill up I put Sta-bil in the tank.
Any tips that may save my battery life other than the typical (1) pump to activate the choke routine?

Since the economy appears to be headed towards a recession I thought that it may be a good time to get a good deal on a new boat.
I received a quote on a new 2008 210 Select with full options: Bow/Cockpit cover, docking lights, batt switch, auto fire ext., stereo package, etc.
The dealer said...
This lesson is on how not to do things seems to totally escape some people. I'd love to see how the trip ended up but I feel confident he ended up in a ravine somewhere wondering why bad things seems to always happen to him.
He's hooked up and ready to fly!! It's amazing how the extra...
I have a 10lb. fluke anchor with 5' of chain and still takes me about 30-50 feet of dragging before it sets sometimes, even with a 6:1 rode ratio.
Should I add another 5' of chain?
Has anyone her had to replace their blower motor? Mine quit and keeps blowing the fuse every time I flip the switch; I am assuming that the motor may have a short.
Any tips? Where is it located? How long should the repair take?
Thanks,
One of my company's clients invited my wife and I out on his Horizon 62 Motoryacht. I was trying to find the Horizon website, but have had no such luck.
Does anyone know where I can find it or what kind of boat it is?
Thanks.
Is the swim deck counted in overall length? If this is so it seems like the newer 185, 195, etc. may be close or the interior room as my 2001, 18.5', 182 sport. :smt017
Anyone planning a trip to Crystal River to harvest some scallops this season? I plan on going for the first time and staying at the Best Western with slips.
Any input would be great. I don't even know where to even find the scallops. Anyone have coordinates to some honey holes?
I have a BMW, X5 with a 6,000 lb / 600 lb tongue towing capacity. I am catching 3.5 itis, and would like to own a 22' Select, SD, or BR in the future.
Could my tow vehicle handle this? It tows/stops my 18.5' around with ease.
Also, do the 5.0 MPI motors on a 22' run as...
