I made the executive decision to cancel our fun day on the water based on my review of the weather yesterday morning. My wife and I planned to take two other couples out to Silver Glen springs on Lake George. This lake can get real ugly real fast and has been know to produce 6'-8' swells during severe weather. Our guest were a little pissed when I called everything off on the last minute, but they are thanking me today. We all settled for a backyard BBQ instead and are all here today to talk about it. When they got pissed I simply said that it is my boat with my rules and everyones safety is my responsibility.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

That is horrible, sounds like you definitely made the right choice, I feel for those families.

Looks like you made the wise call. How horrible it would be lose a child. It just breaks my heart to see stories like this. The families will be in our prayers.

Sorry to hear about the loss of life. How was the weather? The officer said it happened in a mater of seconds???

Geez, I first read this, and thought it was Lake George, NY...

Apparently there's one in FL/Ga area too?
