Has anyone her had to replace their blower motor? Mine quit and keeps blowing the fuse every time I flip the switch; I am assuming that the motor may have a short.

Any tips? Where is it located? How long should the repair take?

Thanks,

I had to replace mine on my 185Sport, it was all the way back mounted to the transom wall, in my case I have the sunpad setup, it is a long reach back there with the back seat wall in your stomach, but you can do it. Two hose clamps, unplug wires, two screws. It took me about a half hour maybe 45 min. Just be careful and do not drop anything, like the screws.

Thanks,

it most likely doesn't have short but is stuck and nothing will help, just replacement
follow 3 or 4 inch hose inside motor compartment and you will find motor attached to
pay attention to flow arrow when you you installing new blower
it should push air OUT not in

Done! Thanks Guys! I also have the sunpad option. I just climbed in and sat indian style near the battery. There is actually alot of space in there. :smt021

A few years ago I probably would have done it that way, now to old, to stiff, to big, if I got down I may not get up.

My worst job in the bilge, so far, was on my 250. The SS transom shower hose finally gave in after years of abuse. I had to crawl over the engine, rotate to my back, reach way back over my head to the fitting, and change it out.

It took several minutes to get back out. It's a very scary feeling. If anything went wrong, as little as a spider crawling on your face, there's no quick solution.

There's a story that one of our local friends was in a similar predicament when he experienced some sort of medical problem. He scared the hell out of himself, but it all worked out ok.
