Weather Updates East Coast??

I know for some this will be a tragic times with the loss ofa home and all belongings and a boat. I have heard a lot of people didn't haveflood insurance on their homes but did on their boats so I would imagine theboat money would be going to the repair of the home also for some it will be anout for that boat they couldn't sell or having trouble paying for, but as longas everyone is safe that is all that really matters. God Bless and pray theweather stays decent for the cleanup.

Another day begins, just wanted to drop a note to all of you out on the east coast, You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Ditto plus remember that donations to the Red Cross or other agencies can help benefit the recovery. We here on the West coast are lucky since we don't get hit with too many storm related disasters. We just have an occasional earthquake, mudslide, flood and lots of fires but nothing compared to what you are going through. My employer matches any donation I make so I will be looking for the best option and sending what I can off to support the relief effort. There are so many displaced by this, I can't even imagine what they are going through.

My update , my partners 320 is also at my marina he got a call from his neighbor that his boat Is ok, he was facing east and mine was facing south. It was the surge I was afraid of , but now I'm hearing that it was the repair center building ( size of a hanger) that Burnt down my boat is 100' from that building so I'm going down there now and I'll post pics. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

Great Luck to you Joe!

I kept the boat in the water on the South Shore of middle Suffolk County during this event. We experienced winds over 85mph and a surge of over 6 feet. We were more fortunate than those on the South Shore of western Suffolk and Nassau County where they expereinced the same wind but a surge greater than 10 feet. Quite a few of my friends there had hauled their boats only to have them washed off their stands or knocked off by other freefloating boats. They are waiting to hear from their insurance companies to see if they have total losses or not. They think they do. I'm not sure what the right thing to do to prepare for this storm really was given the conditions but I got lucky and escaped with a boat that only needs to be washed clean of the dirty film on it. There's still 900,000 out of 1.1 million electric customers without power on Long Island and thousands of homes that are flooded. Quite a mess that's going to take some time to clean up. Some may feel the remnants of this storm for years to come.

Truly heartbreaking images Jim.

Makes me sick, so sad. Funny how innanimate objects can evoke so much emotion. Something we probably all have in common, this is overload.

As bad as those pictures are, they just don't do it justice. The sights and the smells in some of the worst hit areas like Breezy Point, Bay Shore Lindenhurst Freeport are almost unfathomable. Some of these areas have been reduced to little more than third world rubble.

Got news from the marina this morning - "all boats are fine." I think we dodged a bullet in the Rock hall MD area. better to be on the south side of a hurricane.

Ok, made it to the boat and guess what???? She's good!!!!!!! Seems some water got into the bilge through the drain plug.
if the marina had pit it back my boat would be fine. But I'm so relieved. Alot of others where not so lucky. It was very depressing down there people walking around shaking their heads in disbelief. Here ae some pics..

so glad the Mirage is ok

those pics .....I can't express the sadness it brings
