Ok I just spent 2 hours loading pics to photo bucket from my phone. Pics taken from land are at my marina in freeport long island. In one pic there are blocks on the grounds. Those had boats on them last night. 5Boats are missing from the marina and a whole bunch a couple blocks away ontop of cars on lawns in the street and so on. Inside the marina is a battle ground looks like somone filled the marina with water and played bumper boats as you can c. The big ship in one pic is grounded and the burnt building is tropix on nautical mile. Did anybody loose there boats homes cars anything? Hope not good luck with all your cleanups if anybody local needs help with anything anything at all just gimme a shout more than happy to help. http://s870.photobucket.com/albums/ab265/xplicitlnck/

Amazing photos. Thanks for taking them.

Doug

Well if you want to see updates from my marina go to Facebook and search for Morgan marina. Think the boat is toast. I was on the hard all winterized with shrink wrap. I called this morning and they said we lost 3 docks out of 5. All the boats in the water got pushed onto the hard knocking over the boat that were on the stands. I had my plug out and all winterized. Going down tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to seeing the carnage.

I've seen all the photos and heard your stories..... After seeing and hearing, what can we do to help? While I am thankful to have been spared...I am speechless and want to help

They're talking up here about sending a few tractor trailers full of goods that you guys might be in need of.

I told them that I'll drive one for free. Hang tight guys, More help is on the way from your Central NY friends.

Haven't been able to keep up with this post, as a Freeport resident I can attest that the devastation is just unbelievable. I had four feet of water in my garage, two feet on the first floor. As I was evacuating yesterday after seeing how high the first of the three hi-tide cycles was I opened my garage door to avoid the high water at the front door and saw the Freeport vol fire department fighting a fire a hundred yards from me, home eventually became a total loss (burned to the water line) after it restarted twice during the storm. Next door to Tropix was Fiore Bros fish dock, they also buned to the ground. One of my neighbors on Randall Bay woke this AM to find a complete floating dock with three boats tied to it in his back yard. Fortunately I hauled my boat out in Bellmore, a few miles east of me and she was still on her blocks this am. Excuse me for rambling but it's Been a very trying two days.

Why are the houses catching fire when there is so much rain and standing water around?

We really didn't get to much rain a heavy drizzle at most. My oppinion electric and water are the cause.

Summer fun

Extremely genorouse of you. Thank you south shoreline needs the most. After work the next couple of days I will b driving around trying to volunteer. Ill have the inflatable out along with my friends f350 with a two foot lift helping with evacuations. And again anybody with any home or property damage If ya need help with anything at all I'm here. I have bobcats generators to run pumps to drain basements chainsaws trucks whatever

Typically gas lines break and catch the structures on fire.Doug

i was thinking that might be the cause but wondered why the structures did not just blow up. Natural gas leaks are very explosive (as you no doubt know). Adds to the misery of the situation.

Sorry for the losses being discussed here and elsewhere. We are no strangers to nature's quirks having suffered three losses related to weather during the past 40 years. Keep the faith.

Wow...just sureal...

After getting past the human side of this, looking at all those pix of boats, it strikes me odd the shear randomness of it all. In the pix here and on TV, there are boats of all sizes sunk, damaged, tossed around like a cork, then there are neighboring boats of all sizes, apparently pristine, sitting in their slips waiting for someone to take the helm.

Just crazy...

Best wishes to you all. I still have not been able to find out the status of my boat, as I left her on my trailer in Joppa, MD after a recent trip to Baltimore. Certainly not in the NJ/NY center of it all, but none the less concerned for her.

God speed to all,

Summer fun

Extremely genorouse of you. Thank you

Xplicitlnck, Don't thank me, Its the people and businesses in Oneida County that is doing it. :smt001

I'm just hoping to get my hands on a steering wheel again ??.

Marshall - I just hope your house and boat come out OK!
Carter the House is Fine as I listened to a couple of "Snipe" friends and bought a Gene!! The boat on the other hand has been bounced around but that's what we pay Insurance for!! Thanks for asking!!!!!!! Have you gotten "One Sweet Day" down South Yet??

Guys sorry , catching up on the posts to see how everyone is doing. I have been in contact with Alex, he's fine johnathan you all know how he is an Ron his marinas destroyed but his boats ok and he has no power at home.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts ,
Shaun, no more info on my boat but my old dock neighbor who lives near the marina says his 320 and prob most of the boats are destroyed or sunk . So I'm not expecting to find her sitting happily on her blocks when I finally get down there. As you may know I work for NYC so I've been here for two days , more importantly my family are safe. And the house Is fine. I have gotten attached to "Mirage" over this first season and I hope she's ok . Thanks Russ for your kind words. There's plenty of other guys out here doing what has to be done. I'll follow the thread when I can be safe guys.
