OK I will bite...Green balls, red balls, blue balls?

Why is the system delivering the wrong message. When somebody with multiple green balls gives advice about something you can glance at their balls  to see that they have given good advice in the past consistently. The system is not intended to profile you once you log on and know your boating knowledge. Rather it is designed to build over time, sometimes go up, sometimes go down, but ultimately show how your info is regarded around here. I have seen that over time the people who have consistently given good info are now starting to get more green balls. That to me indicates its working. What am I missing

I would agree with that. However, it appears that in some cases few members just like to mess things up for whatever reason. So, if we could control this somehow that would be great. Just a thought, but I'm sure you guys have enough on your hands.

Alex.

My view is that the guys who screw with the system by playing games are doing it for their amusement. Over time, when they get amused, if you post accurate and helpful information that CSR members feel is of value to them, your ball count will take care of itself.

However, if you guess at answers when you don't really know, or tell us how Four Winns, Larson or Tiara does it when the question is about a Sea Ray or if you resort to personal attacks or name calling, etc. well, don't get up tight if your reputation takes a hit.

 +1

Hmmm... I don't make many posts since I sold my AJ but if I do they are factual and hopefully helpful. I was very involved on the old board (when I was racking up the hours on the AJ) but mostly lurk now. Sad how after all those years of dedicated service my balls don't even show...

Looks like you have turned the feature off. No big deal. Surely you can understand the concept that this feature was added just a couple months ago and the system has no way to judge you beyond what has happened in the last 2 months.

I will go ahead and take a chance on the ""No rhyme or reason," ball changing.

But I can now state my signature is correct.

I now have my 2002 Sea Ray 380, Saturday was a pretty good trip, a bit rough at times, (2-4 foot seas and rain) Going out of Ponce Inlet, about 11 miles South of Daytona was a good hull test, 8-10 foot breakers until we got pass them. Left Halifax Harbor in Daytona at 11:45 AM and was in my slip located off of the St. John's (About 20 miles from the sea, slip is actually located on the Ortega River) by 7:30 PM

Used around 32 GPH @ mostly 3800 RPMs which was not to bad, considering the seas. A good speed estimate would probbaly be 18-19 knots.

The term "No rhyme or reason" does come to mind with this complete "BALL" affair.

Have a good weekend :smt038 ( I know I will) I am finally picking up the boat tomorrow and bringing it up from Daytona Beach, Florida to Jacksonville, Florida.

Will be both on the outside, Atlantic Ocean and on the inside, ICW and St Johns River

Boy did I miss alot this weekend! Going back a few pages here is what I've found.

TT's positive comment was worth 47 points
Pakmule's positive comment was worth 15 points

I assume you get another ball every 100 points

I am back to red for no known reason...looks like the games and amusement for some will continue.

I thought that when someone dinged you, you know what post they dinged you on. Is that not true?

I thought you were supposed to be able to see it also but I have never seen anything in my usercp.

Click on your own name to search your own posts. Then click on the scale of your own posts to see feedback and comments, if any. SB

After looking at my own square nut comments, I see I was left a negative, positive and a neutral no change to points comment on one post I made. How do you leave a neutral, grey ball comment?? I don't have that option when leaving feedback. SB

I clicked on my name, then clicked on "Find all posts by...", i see all my posts, but then what? I do not see anything that looks like a scale on the page.
