OK I will bite...Green balls, red balls, blue balls?

Why does Greg have a red ball now???? Someone doesn't like that he doesn't care for the system? Makes no sense to me but I only have one ball so what do I know. SB

Nice, I just went from green to red...is it recess or nap time yet girls and boys? I am so tired of the kindergarden atmosphere here.

Except for this thread, I have made nothing but positive, helpful replies in the past 24 hours. So how could I be red balled? And, IMHO my comments here, though somewhat with emotion, are true and positive.

I obviously hurt and/or offended one of the "clique, member only" folks on here with my comments on this post, which are true given the amount of private messages I received, so I get red balled....nice. Grow up, you do not own this listserv and not everyone here worships the ground you walk on and falls all over themselves when you reply to their post.

Yeah, but at least on eBay you get to see who posted, by name. In this kind of system the cowards can hide behind their comments that give you red balls.

Because I obviously hurt/offended one of the "member only" big boys here. What a joke. And if you do not think this members only group exists, ask about it (it's quite obvious who the members are), it does, they sit back and chat amongst themselves about what "they" see as the stupid questions posted on here and the stupid posters. Since "they" are the authority.

I get a kick out of helping folks here and you folks have helped me quite a bit over the years. Honestly, at this point, seeing some rude/selfish/childish butt decided to red ball me because of my comments on this post, I am done for a while.

You are welcome to private message me if you think I can help you with something and I may do the same to you if I think I can help with your post.

You need to take the weekend off of CSR and go boating. I bet I have been red balled more than anyone on this board. I've seen my reputation points go down by 100 from 1 post. Big deal.
 
Oh yeah... you haven't been truly "red-balled" until one of the moderators does it to you.. It goes on your permanent record at that point. And... I think I was the first person Wes red balled with an "infraction"

Well, when I try to help someone now and they see "MrsRobinson is not highly regarded in these parts" they will discount my help/advise, especially a new member who does not know me. That bothers me more then the game folks are playing with this system. I like to help people, most folks do. Now, because of some game I will be discounted. That really stinks. Was that the goal with this system...I doubt it. because of a few butts who want to play it's now a mess and delivering the wrong messages.

Also, no assumptions being made here, folks have been private messaging me like crazy about this post. I have learned quite a bit in the past 24 hours.

Oh, and we are going boating all weekend, assuming the river is not full of trash.

There is a members only club. It's at the top of the forum, Not sure if you can see it or not if you are not a member. You get in by being a sponsor. Other than that, I personally know of no other "secret club" other than the goat milking one, which I think you attended at BIH? Not sure cause I'm not allowed to go to those cause my boat is under 30'

I have voiced my opinion on the ball system and how it's been abused. I have also voiced my opinion on how this listserv has turned into a big clique for certain members....moving on.

A MENSA meeting this ain't.

Any place you have more than a few people gathering on a regular basis you are going to form cliques. Can't be avoided. We have our "experts" and we have a large group that hang on their every word, adorning them with green balls. We are lucky enough to have the funniest person on the internet amongst us, and there's a group that remind him of that every day. And we have the preeminent authority on all things SeaRay.
So, you see, Greg you really should be counting your blessings each day as I do....a green ball for you my friend.

Why is the system delivering the wrong message. When somebody with multiple green balls gives advice about something you can glance at their balls :grin: to see that they have given good advice in the past consistently. The system is not intended to profile you once you log on and know your boating knowledge. Rather it is designed to build over time, sometimes go up, sometimes go down, but ultimately show how your info is regarded around here. I have seen that over time the people who have consistently given good info are now starting to get more green balls. That to me indicates its working. What am I missing :huh:

If you have something helpful to say just say it and let the chips fall where they fall. What is the problem with that????? After reading a couple messages most people figure out who to believe and who is just full of it.
