Hello all. I'm looking to replace my Raymarine c80 chartplotter and radar. Any recommendations and would I need a new transducer, too?
I installed Garmin. 942/1242 and HD Phantom Radar. Love all of it. I suggest going to a store that has both and play with them to see which one you like better. For the record I bought all my stuff from the gps store. Great folks, knowledgeable and with the NMEA backbone supper easy to install.I did the Garmin 7612 and HD radar. Love it as well. Very easy to use. Suggest go to an electronics dealer and play with all the different systems to "try before you buy".
Oh nice idea, send a pic of that new switch setup when u get a chance

Looks like I may be going the same route as you. Did you have to get a new wood grained face plate or modified the original? Also did you use the old transducer or a new one?I installed Garmin. 942/1242 and HD Phantom Radar. Love all of it. Good luck
I was looking and there are two access point on top, one looks like a big pvc cap, maybe 4 inch. And the other looks like the anti suction cap to keep the tank from collapsing. That has an Allen key bolt. I wasn’t sure how to remove it and didn’t want to mess up the anti suctionI think you would only have empty and then 1/2 next. Which one are you referring to. The sensor access would be on top of the holding tank.

Mine has three separate sensors on top, I’ll take a pic next time I open the bilge. Doesn’t look like a single sending unit at all
Personally I do not think adding thicker canvas is going to help. Once the eisenglass is up it going to turn into a green house. If the eisenglass is off the cold air is going to escape. If there was a hardtop with a 2 inch baffle you may be able to get some insulation and keep in under control. The lined canvas would still transfer the heat in.

Not thicker canvas but a second layer of canvas like on my convertible car. Just a thought
Just went through this earlier this year and on mine, it was behind the main instrument panel towards the starboard side. Remove the screws, tilt the panel back and follow the antenna lead.Got a new icom M400BB radio and can't seem to find the old black box. It was too hot outside when I decided to mess with it. Just need the location. The old unit was the NorthStar NS100.
Thanks.
