You speaking of the level indicator sensors in the black water tank?

Hello all. I'm looking to replace my Raymarine c80 chartplotter and radar. Any recommendations and would I need a new transducer, too?

I put in a dual Raymarine Axiom 9 setup and love it. I also put in the quantum radar.

I did the Garmin 7612 and HD radar. Love it as well. Very easy to use. Suggest go to an electronics dealer and play with all the different systems to "try before you buy".

I installed Garmin. 942/1242 and HD Phantom Radar. Love all of it. I suggest going to a store that has both and play with them to see which one you like better. For the record I bought all my stuff from the gps store. Great folks, knowledgeable and with the NMEA backbone supper easy to install.

    Good luck

I would suggest talking to BOE marine. Jim's staff is quite good and Jim is the the owner of this site.

I think you would only have empty and then 1/2 next. Which one are you referring to. The sensor access would be on top of the holding tank.

Looks like I may be going the same route as you. Did you have to get a new wood grained face plate or modified the original? Also did you use the old transducer or a new one?
    Thanks so much.

I was looking and there are two access point on top, one looks like a big pvc cap, maybe 4 inch. And the other looks like the anti suction cap to keep the tank from collapsing. That has an Allen key bolt. I wasn’t sure how to remove it and didn’t want to mess up the anti suction

The sensor will be the one with the wires going into it. Should be #14 in the diagram and it should twist off.

It will look similar to this:

Mine has three separate sensors on top, I’ll take a pic next time I open the bilge. Doesn’t look like a single sending unit at all

Not thicker canvas but a second layer of canvas like on my convertible car. Just a thought

Working on a project for a friend. Trying to cut down on the heat coming in from his hatch. We are sandwiching quarter inch foam between two layers of vinyl top and bottom to create a heat buffer. Seems to cut heat transfer quite a bit but I believe it the air pockets in the foam producing tye insulation.

Got a new icom M400BB radio and can't seem to find the old black box. It was too hot outside when I decided to mess with it. Just need the location. The old unit was the NorthStar NS100.
    Thanks.

Just went through this earlier this year and on mine, it was behind the main instrument panel towards the starboard side. Remove the screws, tilt the panel back and follow the antenna lead.

CCEAC999-F171-49A3-A252-2B2CD329464C.jpeg I have a 9’ AB Lumina dinghy with a Tohatsu 10hp motor. Weighs maybe 250 lbs. I have A Presto Marine hydraulic lift that I mounted last year when I bought the 340. I had the lift on a bigger boat I had 5 years ago. The lift itself probably weighs 250 lbs, including the pump. I was concerned about adding this much weight to the back of my boat. I have outdrives so I already have more weight further back than v-drives. I can’t say I’ve noticed any significant performance issues coming up on plane, but I think I am going to raise my boot stripe an inch this winter.

As far as whether the swim platform can handle it, use aluminum or SS angle iron as backers below the swim platform if you’re concerned. Mine mounts with 8 bolts per mount and I only used large washers below. Having run recently through 4-5’ Seas on Lake Michigan for a few hours, it seems pretty solid. Despite the downside of the weight concerns, I love the convenience of a hydraulic lift (and I miss the 11’ center console Walker Bay I had on my bigger boat, but like how the 9’ fits for the width of the 340.)
