Dave, one more thing (at least for now), where did you get the cup holders and how did you wire the speakers in the arch?

I'm having trouble deciding - which looks better
1- Boot stripe
2- No boot stripe

Boot stripe May I suggest that you make the upper thinner stripe in a contrasting colour like yellow, gold or red...

Found the cupholders on EBAY, they are stainless steel. I had to buy a 3 3/4" hole saw to put them in.They also have a nipple on bottom I put clear tubing on for drainage. Ran a fish tape up the respective gunnels and up the arch....wasn't too bad as there were speakers there already although I put in bigger, better grade wire. (16g I believe).

I removed most of the striping from my boat but agree with Pietro the boot stripe looks best on, not off. I am going to talk to my upholstery guy about what to cover seats with. I am thinking a light beige. I want something heavy gauge and good quality.

I redone my dash today. Don't look to bad for somebody that has never done it before.

Details...need details. (looks good).

Don:

Stripes!!! :smt001
I think that I would like the blue with thin silver on the top.

I thought there was a little rot on the top dash piece. Well there was a lot. I bought some marine vinyl and headliner material for padding, glue and stainless staples. Have about $70 or less in those materials. I hade to remake the top dash wood base. That took two times to get it right. Polyurethane it with Marine plywood. I installed it tonight, but couldn’t take any pics. To dark in the barn for pic for my phone camera.
I had to do them all or there was going to be slit color difference.
I was going to have the upholster guy do it, but I'll save that money for the dinette.

Dave, Are these the cup holders you bought?

There are rivets that hold the chrome trim pieces in place.
I imagine that you drilled them out to remove the pieces.
What did you use to replace the rivets or did you use rivets again?

Had to move the holes and put longer rivets in.

Don,
That looks like them.

I replaced all of my cockpit and cabin bulbs with LED's from SuperBrightLeds.xxx. Here are some before and after shots. I used cool white in the cabin and blue in the cockpit. In the head I used two cool whites in the dual sockets and a small blue in the center position. It provides enough light if you get up at night. In both the v-berth and mid-berth I used LED's that only shine straight out so they act like reading lamps. For the dinette I used LED's that had leds surrounding the base so you have 360 degree light.

I have been wanting to do that for awhile. Could you possibly supply part numbers for the bulbs?

Glad to. I'll have to check some of the sockets to make sure where they were used, should be able to do it Saturday.

Looks great - I'd like to do this too - when I'm on batteries I get low voltage warning if all the lights are on at once.

This summer, my ignition, press., temp. buzzer wouldn't shut-up. I had to cut the wires. Anybody know where I can get a replacement from? :smt100

When I replaced my bulbs, I was amazed at how many different types of bulbs were used. Here's what I wound up using, all from Superbrightleds. Cost around $200.

Radar Arch-1142 style, dual contact, side studs equal distance-G4BP-BA15D-adapter with GB4-BHP4-DAC bulb. Had to leave socket loose from holder because of length of bulb. Two of them. Blue.

Galley-1142 style- 1142-CW18-T Two of them. Cool White.

AFT & V-BERTH-67-W0 Reading type bulb, forward facing leds. Four of them. I had to reverse the wiring on about half of the lamps, some leds are polarity sensitive. Cool White.

Dinette-1156-CW45-T Leds 360 degrees around bulb and forward facing for maximum light output. Cool White. Had to reverse leads in one lamp.

Head-Used 2 WLED-CWHP15-T for the main lighting, Cool White. For the single center bulb I used a blue single led so I could leave it on all night. It gives out enough light so you can get around. It's a 24-BHP in blue.

Anchor Light-3022-CWHP4 Festoon type bulb in Cool White. Used 2, 1.21 inches long.

Cockpit-3910-B4 For the port and starboard courtesy lights. Blue festoon.

Step-BA9s-B-x-12V Blue miniature single contact bulb.
