When I replaced my bulbs, I was amazed at how many different types of bulbs were used. Here's what I wound up using, all from Superbrightleds. Cost around $200.
Radar Arch-1142 style, dual contact, side studs equal distance-G4BP-BA15D-adapter with GB4-BHP4-DAC bulb. Had to leave socket loose from holder because of length of bulb. Two of them. Blue.
Galley-1142 style- 1142-CW18-T Two of them. Cool White.
AFT & V-BERTH-67-W0 Reading type bulb, forward facing leds. Four of them. I had to reverse the wiring on about half of the lamps, some leds are polarity sensitive. Cool White.
Dinette-1156-CW45-T Leds 360 degrees around bulb and forward facing for maximum light output. Cool White. Had to reverse leads in one lamp.
Head-Used 2 WLED-CWHP15-T for the main lighting, Cool White. For the single center bulb I used a blue single led so I could leave it on all night. It gives out enough light so you can get around. It's a 24-BHP in blue.
Anchor Light-3022-CWHP4 Festoon type bulb in Cool White. Used 2, 1.21 inches long.
Cockpit-3910-B4 For the port and starboard courtesy lights. Blue festoon.
Step-BA9s-B-x-12V Blue miniature single contact bulb.
I got a quote today from a local upholstery guy to recover all this in a marine grade vinyl.....$1100....jeez! I got him down to $820 if I do the 5 vee-berth rail pieces myself.
Don: About the only thing that I know about Marine Vinyl is the difference is that it is UV treated. There are a lot of new materials on the market that are very nice. One of them being something called Pleather. I think that it is just for interior use, but, it is nice stuff. You really have to look around. I would think that a good upholster would be a good source of information.
Some food for thought. When my cockpit was re-done, it was pleated and just a single accent stripe was used. Here is a picture:
And, of course my wife likes to play "let's add a pillow". (Man, I am so sick of pillows - would you believe that she had ten pillows on the boat. At least I got her to cut it to six).
Don, I was amazed by how much the old bulbs drew, I never put the amp meter to it, but when I switched on the main cabin switch other things would dim or slow down. The boat is at the shop getting a rotten transom and mid-cabin supports replaced so I haven't had time to play with the new lights. I'm supposed to get the boat back the middle of next week, then I should have the engine and out-drive back in by the end of the week. Down here (Houston Tx) we can boat year round, so I'm itching to get it back in the water.
