I hope someone on this thread can help. I just purchased my first SR 290 Sundancer this past spring. I am replacing the shower sump pump because the fitting on the side of the plastic tank is broken and it leaks. The new Attwood sump pump box I purchased is slightly different in size that the Attwood box I am replacing. As you'll notice from the picture, there are two screws screwed directly into the floor. Can I drill additional holes into this floor without damage (assuming I caulk and seal the old and new holes)? Obviously, I don't want to break through the bottom hull. Two of the pics are just directing the readers to where the sump is located on my boat.

Seal old holes with epoxy such as Marine Tex. Use the penetration depth of the old screws as your guide for the new ones. Apply some 3m 4200 to the threads of the new screws before you run them in the holes you pre-drill.

I got the upholstery out of the boat. Sea Ray is quite tricky with hiding the screws!
I will get it re-upholstered this Winter along with new curtains that separate mid-berth and vee-berth. I am thinking light beige or even a creme color. I am also looking at a faux wood product for the floor.
I Looked at Allure flooring at Home Depot (light Bamboo). Seems thin but it is waterproof and peolple are putting it in boats.
Here is a shot of upholstery laid out in my basement.

Are thinking about re-upholstering just those pieces, Dave?

To save yourself a couple of bucks, you can do the five rail pieces yourself. They are just a matter of cut and staple. You just have to make sure that you get the proper orientation of the material. I did my rails, the rest of the work (cut & sew) was done by the upholstry shop.

In case you didn't know it, there is a black panel under the white panel on your refrigerator door. I didn't know that! Nobody tells me anything.

I have an Isotherm. I was thinking of buying a stainless panel to go on it.

I think that I spent more on that boat this year than it is worth.
I'm not buying anything more until the start of the new fiscal year. :smt001

    Holding Tank Vent Filter

Having just bought this boat I've been making repairs. This one involved a smell I could never seem to get rid of. Having read posts on filters in the vent hose for the holding tank I decided to check on mine. My 1990 290 Sundancer did not have a filter. In addition the vent hose had come loose from the holding tank. I bought some 2" pvc fittings from my local hardware store and made my own. Filled with activated carbon (charcoal) bought from the pet department of wally world my total investment was less than $20. I cut some circles out of window screen and glued them into the end pieces. Everything else was simply pushed together without glue. An easy fix that seems to have cut down on the odor.
