Obama Infomercial

How many years has McCain been in the senate? How about Obama? How many bills has McCain had a hand in? How about Obama? Think about that before you ask why McCain is more qualified than Obama. But then you are probably too busy or distracted while having multiple Obasims. (you'll go blind from that sonny, but atleast the future holds free health coverage, just get in line, they should get to you in about ten years)

Is this a word? Sorry could not resist, my bad:grin:

I didn't watch it. If I wanted a lesson on the fixing the economy, I have a eight-year-old niece I could ask. Neither is more likely to solve the problems, however. But at least Emily is a cute kid.

Best regards,
Frank

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59. So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.

"Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free.

But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20, "declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!" "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got TEN times more than I!" "That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.

In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Thanks Gary, I went down a similar scenario last night after watching Obama Koolaid making show and I wasn't getting my questions answer but still want to stay married. I will tell this story and see what comes of it. I may want to go stick a heater in the boat in case I need to sleep there.

Oh Well I'll try my best.

Get over it, Obama is going to be our next President! And for the record, Direct TV is owned by Murdoch, a staunch right wing republican...dummy

Jesse Jackson Jr. will take over Obama's seat in the Senate. Hillary moves to the Supreme Court. Bill Clinton will put moves on the skirts. The Michigan Dems are trying to redo the succession plan so Jennifer, our tax and spend guv from Canada, can take a position in the new administration, and so it will go. I still think he will lose in the end.

NCBoater...I have no problem with McCain if he picked someone else for VP. But I do questions his judgment on a VP when I read about these things dealing with Sarah Palin. Please inform me on any correction to this statements made by different news agencies.

· Senator McCain, despite his health problems and advanced age, chose Governor Sarah Palin as his vice president, cabinet member and possible successor.

 • Governor Palin has no foreign policy experience whatsoever. She didn’t even have a passport in 2007 when she was preparing to take a trip to visit troops from Alaska’s National Guard.
· She got her start in politics as an ardent anti-choice activist while her husband was a member of the Alaska Independence Party, which advocates voting on Alaska’s secession from the United States.
· In 1999, she attended a fundraiser for Pat Buchanan who was running for President. The same Pat Buchanan who praised Hitler and blames Jews for turning Congress into “Israeli occupied territory”; the same Pat Buchanan who merits seven separate pages on the Anti-Defamation League’s website.
· Buchanan has described Palin as a “[pitchfork] brigader for me in 1996, as was her husband. They were at a fundraiser for me. She is a terrific gal.”
· Like many on the Christian Right, Palin believes that the earth is 6,000 years old and has supported the teaching of creationism in the classroom.
· As the editor of the L.A. Jewish Journal noted, a search for “Palin” in the AIPAC database produces no matches. That is because Palin has no record on Israel, one of many countries she has never visited.
· At this moment of international crisis and ongoing instability in the Middle East, why would John McCain choose a governor with absolutely no background in this area as his successor and running mate?
· After eight years of a Bush Administration that at times appeared to exist solely to do the bidding of this powerful voting bloc. Yet according to the New York Times, McCain felt he had to ask Palin, and not his close friend Senator Joe Lieberman or former Governor Tom Ridge, because he feared the wrath of the Christian Right.
· In the 1990s, Sarah Palin helped fellow evangelicals take over the local school board, community hospi*tal board and the local electric utility. She joined other anti-abortion activists in a picket line intended to intimidate a local OB-GYN who had objected to their effort to ban abortion from the region.
· Palin was asked if the earth “was really less than 7,000 years old and whether dinosaurs and humans walked the earth at the same time. And she said yes, she’d seen images somewhere of dinosaur fossils with human footprints in them.”

 • Palin’s nomination was urged on McCain by her allies, including James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Ralph Reed, Phyllis Schlafly and Pat Buchanan.

So I think we all are drinking the koolaid no matter which way any of us vote...:wow:

I'm still trying to figure out how McCain got the nomiation! McCain wasn't conservative enough for most of us but somehow got the nomination. I would have preferred Romney or Huckbee as the running mate but I like Sarah! I'm very tired of lawyer politicians!

BTW sarah is Pro Life not anti choice. You have several choices. Don't have sex when you are not prepared for the consequences, keep the baby, give the baby up for adoption.

Saltydogz

You have done a fine job scanning the news reports on Palin. I am sure they are all accurate as you have stated.

Now to be fair & balanced. Why don't you come up a list on Obama and post it. I am voting for the top of ticket. BTW, since you are focused on VP's do you really think the US will suffer from a terrorist attack, Joe Biden states he guarantee's it will happen!

Just curious, do you work for the Gov't?

What fair & balanced news agencies are you talking about.

Do you really want to open up the can of worms known as abortion? :smt001

Yes I do..and I believe McCain has said the same thing in one or two of his of his ad's around here. I think the ads were one with the empty president' chair and another one that shows a storm sea, but I am up get a beer during the commercial anyway so I am not sure about.

I am not sure what will happen, but George Bush says that one of the reason for staying in Iraq so that another attack does not happen.

I also agree that Palin was a major factor in my opinion making process. The other issues (besides the one you quoted) you cited are not that big to me. The ones that bother me are;
 • OK. . .of all the politicians that could have been selected; was this REALLY McCain's best choice? Honestly? If Hillary was picked by Obama, do you REALLY think McCain would have picked Palin? The clear, flagerant political ploy is simply insulting.
 • Palin's Economic record: Palin's opposition to the "Bridge to NoWhere". She was very "pro bridge" until the Bridge pork received attention in the Congress. Note that Alaska still got the Bridge money. Note that the approach roads to the bridge (that wasn't built) were completed. Palin's economic record in that town with a population smaller than my housing development is not great. She embarked on building some sort of sports stadium (?) that significantly increased local debt.
 • Failure to be "meet the press" and run the media gauntlet in a timely manner. OK. . .give her two weeks (or three) for some "training". After that - - > emergence from the bunker is kinda mandatory, Don't you think? You betcha!
So I think we all are drinking the koolaid no matter which way any of us vote...:wow:

No real argument there.

I guess I must be in the minority because I don't really have an issue with her. She seems smart to me and a little more above board/honest than bonehead Obama. Being intelligent and honest gets you more than halfway there in my book. She's been a Governor... that process alone provides a lot of vetting.

But then again, I never really figured that someone believing in the world being 6000 years old was an issue for some... Go apply your same criteria to Obama.... His church's teachings are hateful... that's more scary than anything I've seen out of Palin. But maybe you don't like it because her IQ is higher than yours.

I wonder what Franklin, Adams, Henry, Jefferson, Lincoln, Kennedy, and Reagan's view was on how old the earth was... What a joke guys... Go find something substantial. Like how they'll treat job creation... not people creation.

I did hear Palin has met with space aliens. You forgot to mention that.
How come nobody wants to talk about business and jobs. Our candidates sure haven't spent much time on it.

I went to buy a some tires a while back. They told me the price went up $400 ea, now they're $1,900. The tire shop said the gov as put a tariff on the imported tires to equalize their prices with domestic made. Why did we let the industry shift overseas? So now the gov gets $400 more in tax the tire co raises the price $400 to cover it and I get screwed, it's the same tire. So make the things here and employee some people.
