My Sandy Story

Mark
Took a look at it but we're going to break away from the sedan bridge concept to a 'dancer. Also gonna try to get into the new millennium. Thanks for searching for me!

Sorry to hear that Ron. Make sure your wife is on board for a "cave boat". I had to listen to my wife complain for 8 yrs when I went from my sedan bridge to my dancer but now she's happy again with the AC. Make sure whatever you buy will cruise at 23kts so you can keep up with your buddies that have been breaking your balls for as long as I can remember....tough crowd. Mark

You gonna buy something with modern lighting?

Priceless!

Ron,

You will love the MPI and ECM's compared to carbs (not that there's anything wrong with carbs!)!

Ron, I've been following this thread hoping for the best but fearing the outcome that you ended up with. Having been through the 'your boat is totaled' conversation with a surveyor and the insurance man I can imagine some of what you're going through. I wouldn't want to do it again and I'm sure you feel the same way.

Congrats on finding another boat. It won't take long before the memories of this will become more and more distant, so hang in there. Time really does heal all wounds.

Ron,
I have been following your thread from afar and was sorry to read that your boat was a total loss. Yours and Dan Thomas's boats were two of my favorite classic Sea Rays that will be virtually impossible to replace. Even though we don't know one another, if you happen to travel to Scottsdale in the near future, you are more than welcome to join me on Bartlett Lake...that is if you don't mind cruising in a non-Sea Ray!! Sorry again for you loss and best of luck finding a replacement.

Don't worry...my wife has been reminding me for the past 4 years how she misses the layout of a "cave boat." She's not going to have a problem with the transition. And YES, we will be looking forward to keeping up with the crowd!

Thanks once again for the empathy from everyone who chimed in. Still waiting to hear from Allstate, who is waiting to get the paperwork from the surveyor. These guys are overwhelmed - could take a while. But heck, I've got all winter, spring and summer!

Interesting. I wonder how much the rates will increase across the board? I'm sure it won't be pretty.

Doug
