My Sandy Story

Why are you DA guys always in a hurry to get nowhere? The water is still going to be there when you arrive. Boating is about looking out the large salon windows ( port holes ) for you Da dudes! One person at a time!!!! ,,,,, not rushing your lives away. Slow down and smell the seaweed or something ps. Your only traveling a little faster than me but I did have my props done so I might be faster now! At 3200 I was at 18-19 sog your at 3400 and 22sog not much oh and 35 GPH for me also.

Anyway. Back to business. Ron I hope that's your new boat. It's a beauty. We looked at a 380 and a 400 Da before the move. Best of luck. Now you can join us at Block Island!!!! :smt038

Real classy Ron.
Lots of luck.

Congratulations, Ron!

Don't listen to those bridge boat guys - they're just jealous.

Congratulations Ron

You are going to love the boat. There's lots of us 380DA owners on this forum, so there's lots of knowledge to tap.
I love stories that end well.

Good luck with her!

Dave

Thanks very much everyone. Joe, my brother, I'm sorry. I was ready to come down to sea level, as were my girls, after 9 seasons up in the sky. My wife LOVED my Crownline and my daughter keeps asking me "how fast does it go?"

The boat surveyed admirably and was obscenely well cared for. Motors were replaced before the 2008 season with 8.1s that now have 168 hours. Thruster (for pussies, I know), newer canvas and cockpit carpets, oh, and a dead generator, which we'll replace with a new one.

Jonathan, I believe those are Aetna tachs but Rick'll tell you for sure. Carter has them too, maybe Frank W and Turtle.

Glad to hear resolution. Nice Ride! Have Fun with her. BTW, I love the extra confidence that ***** Thruster gives us on gusty days coming in by your self.

Beauty Ron!!!! We wish you all the best especially after what you've been through. You deserve it!!

I'm thinking one picture doesn't really do this story justice..............

Ron's experience with his storm damaged boat, his handling of the insurance claim, the old boat's salvage and disposal, his ability to stay focused on identifying what boat was next for he and his family, his diligent search for that boat, and then negotiating a deal well below market for an almost new boat might be a very good outline for others in both handling a complicated loss and how to buy a new boat.

You done good, Ron!

Thanks Mark, Marshall (you're still gonna be driving circles around me), Doug,Escapade, Susan and Lance, Joe and Todd.

More thanks especially to Mr. Webster, who was there from Oct 30 onward, listened to me b!tch, whine, go "all Jersey" on some people, talked me off some ledges, proofread many a document and email for me, helped me see clearly and be discerning. A wise man who I'm happy to call a good friend. (But he's still annoyed that I bought another gasser).

That ends the gooshy portion of our thread. Let's all go boating!!!
