All right, all right. I'm over it... but I'm still attached to that boat! And yes, better than the chainsaw, which was definitely the path she was destined for.
The next pic I hope will be of her under way. That's a stretch but it's possible!

You are gonna have to tow the old boat to get it to move.

Watch and see, new Dude is going to string up some Christmas lights, add some fake palm trees, giant stereo speakers and make it a dock queen/floating party place.

    Big ones!
Ron - I didn't hear the details on the old boat. Someone you know picked it up via auction?

The insurance company paid him for it and then gave it back to him...probably because it was going to cost them too much to saw it up.

Ron gave it to a dockmate.

He is afraid it is going to look like this in a couple of months:

Love the new 380! Awesome boat, congrats.
( I am doing a bimini top and solid window panels for a 380 at the moment.)

Rick and Marshall are correct on all counts. Even possibly that the boat will never run under her own power again.

Dave, thanks! You're really getting into the business!? Fantastic. You better watch out - might have to quit your day job ;-)
I have some sewing to do on my canvas. One seam is opened up. Just so much other crap to do that I haven't had time to bring my machine to the marina.

Doesn't work that way........with an agreed value yacht policy, which is what Ron had, the insurance company has certain limits of coverage for certain types of loss. In Ron's case they just paid the agreed value plus the limits for salvage, disposal, remediation to stop damage to other's property, etc. The insurance company never has title to the vessel in a case like this, so they can't give it to anyone.

Sandy has certainly provided everyone with a reason to read and understand the fine print in their boat policy............if you haven't, I encourage you to do so soon.

Ron, I hope your boat did not see you on your new, younger girl... You know women can be mighty jealous and vengeful...

Did Chris at your marina give you any idea on the fate of the old girl? You took such good care of her; it would be nice to see someone take her on as a project boat...

The two girls are VERY much aware of each other, ,but they're not on speaking terms and had to be separated. Chris is working on her.
