My Sandy Story

Ron, we've never met, but I felt the least I could do was to pick one of your photos and enhance it for posterity:

Shoot me you email address and I'll send you a better resolution photo.

Hope things turn out well with a replacement boat.

Best Wishes,

Jacob
She's still not moving "Fast Enough"!!

If there is no structural damage, only water intrusion, I would not be surprised to see it sold for refit. A handy sort can gut the boat, rewire and repower and have a very nice boat. That said, that person would have to buy it from the ins. co. for cheap. I've seen some nasty looking boats put back to service with enough effort.

My dock neighbor bought an old wooden boat that used to be a ferry to a park. When he got it you could stand on the deck and look into the bilge and see the ground under her. He had her gutted, and they more or less built a fiberglass hull around the wood boat. All done professionally I may add. It is drop dead gorgeous now. He's taking her on the loop next fall.

Good luck Ron in your search for the next one.

I wonder if joe is gunna go to block this summer. I think he said he was gunna start saving last summer. His words to my ears. Maybe ill let him leave 4 hours prior to me so I can catch him at montauk. And then when we get there I can tell him the stories his partner at work shares with me. Should be good

Atleast out of all this bs the storm caused there's always good people to bust chops and bring the fun out and have everybody laugh in the end

Jonathan,

I hear he is in secret meetings with Alex. They are working on a SUPER SPREADSHEET to determine optimal lunar position, tidal flow, wind and wave conditions etc. to maximize his fuel efficiency for his next trip!!! I hear there is even discussion on a new cool mod!! Under consideration is conversion of his bimini top into a sail!!!! :smt043:smt043:smt043

Nice going, Todd. First you threw Joe under the bus, now me......you forgot about customized shaft locking mechanism so Joe can run on a single screw burning 3GPH at 6kts without ruining the other trany.

Ron,

I think it's in the stars that it's time for converting to diesels. Our Chesapeake gang is waiting for you at BIH. You know there's a nice 410 available right in your backyard.

Haha!! That's great Alex!!!

You're right about the 410 DA!! Robert just put his up for sale!! I believe he had it listed on this site too!! If I had the Denero I would be looking at it myself!! He is meticulous with the maintenance and the electronics are all updated as well as the Tracvision is already in place!!

Yep, that's the one. Cruising speed and fuel burn are as good as it gets.

Lateral move for me boys, NOT up.

How did I get dragged into this ? And how did you find out about my meeting with Alex? Guess you guys beat this thread to death ? no disrespect Ron
And Jon,
You stopped in the ocean to swim only because that sundancer didnt come with a cool fiberglass hardtop that keeps me cool and out of the sun!!!
Todd, don't get me started about your boat if I didnt see it for my own eyes this summer I wouldn't believe you had one !!

What???? I think he couldn't hold it any longer......What were you doing in the ocean? You got lost or something? Watch Hill is on the other side. Ahh, now I know why you were replacing your MFD for half of last season.

Hey, I begged out of this thread about 80 posts back. It's got legs!

Sorry to hear about your loss Ron.....I would go lateral also. I'm at my max for the type of boating and Marina we have. I still love the 1989-1990 models and their cabin room, Mike.
