LI Rendezvous - 2011

What date do you guys prefer for our LI Rendezvous?

  • Total voters
    30
Then NANSEA and crew will be joining you all for the LI trip... My wife has family on the island and I would rather go by boat than drive on the Great LIE or the Belt... Looking forward to meeting you all... I will discuss with my wife what our offerings will be for the table... We plan on following Alex and Robert, so we should be in good hands...

Rod, Nancy, Amy, Kelly and Rylllie...

Great news, Rod!!! We're happy to have you on the trip. It should be a lot of fun.

Just when I deleted our list of "Maybes" due no response we have one crew that's changed their plans to participate. As people say, "Better late than never".

Make sure to call MYC to book your slip.

I'm adding you guys to the official list of participants on the first page.

Just took the time to skim through the posts... Looks like we will be one of the smaller boats going... How are we pairing up for mooring at block island? We are looking forward to going... We are still trying to come up with what to offer for the table...

Rod, IMO any captain with a boat over 30' has no right to complaint about the size...

As far as I understand the mooring at the Block is first come first serve. We'll have much better chance by getting a ball since we're arriving on Monday. I hope that we'll be able to grab at least couple of balls and they allow two boats (we'll have to check the size limits, though). Worst case scenario, we can drop the hooks and wait for the balls to free up. If that won't work by whatever reason, there are few marinas to pull in.

OK, OK - Mustang is in the water, and she's running like a thoroughbred, so I guess my wife and I will have to come to the rendezvous too. I can't let Rod be the only 340 there - us little guys have to stick together when surrounded by such large boats.

We plan to leave Marlboro, NY on Thursday afternoon, and spend the night it Glen Cove. Then, Friday morning, we'll head to MYC. I'll talk to the wife about our offerings for the dinner. She's a vegetarian, but I could make up a big vat of Shepard's Pie, if that's ok.

Let me know!!

Dale

My first page missing details:

"rcknecht": Rod and Nancy, Amy (13), Kelly (12), Ryllie the Dog (11) "NANSEA" 2001 340DA (LOA=33'6", Beam=11'5", 2x30amp), Toms River, NJ, 3 nights (Fri/Sat/Sun),
Food: (probably a desert and clams)

The change is made, Rod.

BTW, I found the limit note for mooring at the Block (I think Mike posted it):

The Limit is 46' on the green moorings and up to 55' on the orange ones. Rafting is at the harbormasters discretion based on the size of the two boats (Two 30' on a green mooring should not be a problem) larger boats rafting will have to have an orange one. The moorings are still $40. (Both Green and Orange)

Alex, the " caution tape" comment was meant as a joke. It was my attempt at humor.

Sorry Joe, apparently I "read" your humor performance much better in person :), looking forward to it at MYC.

Alex,

Our info is as follows:

"MasterFab": Dale and Tina "MUSTANG" 2002 340DA (LOA=36' 3", Beam=11'5", 2x30amp), Marlboro, NY, 2 nights (Fri/Sat/Sun), Food: (Probably some form of pasta salad - my wife will let us know...)
My wife will be calling MYC today to set up the reservation. I can't wait to be on vacation!!!

Dale

Dale, I got you on the list on the first page.

Please shoot a quick PM to Greg for the name tags.

Hey guys, the menu looks kind of light. I will be preparing pulled pork sliders and a southern cole slaw. I would join you in Block, but I'm here now and can't stay into next week. See you in Montauk!

Alex,

I already sent Greg a PM. It's just me and my wife, Tina. Can't wait to see everybody! (I need a vacation badly).

Thanks Dave. Yeah, I agree that by this time I would think we'll have full menu, but only about 50% of people responded.

Sorry you can't make the Block with us, but looking forward seeing you at MYC.

Alex
Just FYI, we had a lukewarm response on the AC trip but everyone came through when it counted. I wouldn't worry about the offerings too much as long as everyone understands the concept.

Sounds like it's gonna be a great trip!

Thanks Ron, I totally agree and my thoughts are exactly the same.

I'm sure that by this time everyone is on the same page and twicking few details is the only thing that's left.

Guys, here's what got in regards to the tables setting:

Tablecloths -
Drinks (Soda) -
paper plates - Greg
utensils - Steve
cups - Alex
Napkins - Alex
trash bags - Joe

I'll find out from MYC if they'll supply tablecloths for the tables, but in the meantime can we get some volunteers for the rest of the stuff?
