Damn i just read your thread, thats no fun hope all is well with your bro and you guys get it up and running soon . I read your pm also good luck with everything.

With only few weeks away I hope you guys getting ready for the trip. Unfortunatelly, I haven't heard many response in regards to the table offerings. So, I'll go first:

Inspiration will bring flank or skirt stake on the bed of spring mix. Cream puffs with fruits for dessert.

I've made slight changes to the 1st page and will include the table offerings to the list.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS ARE BRINGING TO THE TABLE.

BTW, if anyone would like to volunteer to bring utensils, paper plates, cups, napkins, garbage bags, etc... please don't be shy.

It's our party, so it'll be as good as we'll make it.

Alex,

You can put us down for tuna stuffed cherry peppers, a shrimp platter, and something for dessert.

I will also make nametags for everyone, so if everyone could please PM me the following:
Boat Name
First names of everyone attending

I won't be able to out do what Rick did for AC, but at least we will know who we are talking to.

Velvet ropes?

Greg
We never did get to our Scot Tissue test. Maybe it can be an event at the LI Rendezvous (?) ;-)

You know, I brought about 6 different kinds of toilet paper with me to AC, but then forgot all about it.

That would make for a very interesting youtube eductational video!

Sorry for the hijack Longeyelanda's!

I think Todd's boat would have been perfect candidate for the test......sorry Todd, I couldn't resist due to your latest head issues.

Greg,

Thanks a lot for volunteering to do the name tags. You're the man. We still have the ones from AC we can ware, but I don't mind to use whatever you'll make to be uniformed with everyone else.

Updating the first page with your table offerings and sending you PM for the name tags....

My wife is a killer cook!! (not a black-widow type killer) She will bring something awesome on fri.

Hey Rick,

Can you get some specifics from your wife, so I can assign to your crew on the first page?

Alex,

We will be coming to Montauk at the end of our 10 day vacation in Block, our fridge will be very empty (Ok, not like we pack allot to begin with)... We will call the restaurant at MYC and see if they can make some kind of tray of food or I will call a local place in Montauk and see if they can do like a tray of Penne Vodka. I can't say what exactly we will find but we will not be empty handed!

That sounds great, Larry. I'll mark it on the first page accordingly.

Alex, put us down for sausage and peppers , Greek salad, and a case of garbage bags. If we cant have velvet ropes how about caution tape? Haha

Thanks, Joe. I've updated your info on the first page.

Keep the offerings coming guys and also don't forget to PM Greg info for the name tags.

Hi Alex,

We're the "newbie". We will bring the plastic utensils along with "southwestern" marinated steak bites on crusty bread and my wifes summer cole slaw salad. If you need us to bring anything else, please let me know

Looking forward to meeting you and the gang!

Steve

Thanks Steve. I updated your info on the first page.

It looks like instead of having one crew take care of the utensils and other stuff for the table, it looks like we're splitting the efforts between several crews, which is just as good. I've added plastic cups to myself.

Gues we we dont need the caution tape then?

I'm planning on running in the ocean from the fire island inlet, it's a straight run and deep water if anyone wants to join us let me know, also is 2-3 footers ok for 26-28' boats i know i can handle it just checking, hope more boats jump on i have done the fire island to shinnecock inet last year it was like a lake!!! We can always cruise the inside on the tail end!

"lake" sounds great. I need to defer to the more experienced guys...if 2 - 3 footers would make for an uncomfortable ride for for us. thoughts

Joe, if we don't have velvet ropes, than I think we should skip the tape, unless it's some kind of decor. But, you can bring whatever you like.

Just my .02c.

Ron,

It all depends on the wind speed, direction and frequency of the waves. IMO, 3' constant chop is worst than 6-7' nice rollers which are spread apart. A good example of an ocean run is when I was coming back from Cape May in 2009. The ocean was like a lake, really. We were heading back home, cruised for about 30min and stopped to watch dolphins. Within the next 15min or so North wind picked up (head wind since we were going north) and developed 3' constant chop. I had to drop it down to 17MPH@3200RPMs to provide smoother ride keeping the bow down to cut through each wave. There's no danger for your boat in these conditions, but it's just uncomfortable and bumpy ride.

BTW, can you let me know what you're bringing to the table?
