Best mod under a 100.00

i have blue underwater lights as well, however i am in a heavy populated lk st clair and have yet to see them on another boat.......
must be a west coast fad..... Lol.

skillz48047 - I think the reason you might not be seeing any other blue underwater lights on lake St Clair is because it's too muddy, just sayin'.

JK - I personally prefer white but that's just my utilitarian opinion - Nice Job with the lights !

Wanted to wait til I got the cockpit cleaned up an everything stowed away but I can't contain myself. What does everybody think?

I think you did great! I used red leds in my cockpit and love them. With the red lights on I don't get the bugs swarming like you do with the white lights. I however do not run at night with my lights on. I feel they are an uneeded distraction for other boats... keep up the work on your classic!

LOL Jmagdaz,Jmagdaz,Jmagdaz. Nice lights but, you should've known better than to expose your LEDholicism to this lot. They're a tough audience. Still, you're not alone.

Hi. My name is Terry and.... I'm an LEDholic.

I like them...I have blue AND white on my deck on separate switches so I can chill or see
And if someone else doesn't like them they can either swim back or buy the boat and remove them

Personally I like them. Think they are great if your hanging out on boat in the evening. Dont care for underwater lights as much they just dont seem useful.

I like all your options, switching colors and the swim back or buy.

The underwater lights seem to be a great tool with salt water fishing. My brother-in-law uses them all the time in the gulf.

I think you should do what you like.

I personally do not like the colored lights . . . At all .. . Anywhere on the boat . . . with the exception of red/green navigation lights.

I also think that it takes away from the “classic” look of your beautiful boat.

Where I think it gets obnoxious is when someone gets the RGB lights flashing to the music and all the “more lights than you have” wars on the lake. I see a bunch of boats with the blues and greens and flashing lights and it disturbs me for more than one reason.

Naturally as it's your boat you should do what pleases you, much the same as everything else in life with the caveat that providing "it does not hurt or harm anyone else" i.e. don't run at night with coloured lights on apart from navigation (don't help accidents to happen.) We also have LED lights in the cockpit, white on the arch and blue on the deck which we think looks pretty tasteful (apparently quite a few others do too as there are several boats that have the same set up at our yacht club.) However, would we ever have coloured lights that flash in time to music........Lord NO, but if that's what "floats your boat" and makes a statement about you...............that's fine too.

Lord Farrington, I'm actually most impressed that the deck is so shiny clean that I can see the individual LEDs in the rope!
I like indirect lighting of only to keep the women folk from having to turn on every other bulb on the boat because "its too dark out here"

LED's are a polarizing topic like portable generators. Regardless of opinions, I think you did a good job installing.

I don't have the colored LED's on my boat (money spent all on fuel) but I can say in our trip to Bimini last year that almost every center console that pulled up had them.

It also appeared that all the chicks there were digging them too....and that is really all that matters.

OK, I am going to ask and probably get a lashing but what's the problem with them?

I understand to not run with them while underway! It is a hazzard to other boaters.
But,
As far as being DOCKED and having colored mood lighting is there a down side?
I understand it maybe an opinion thing just wondering if there is a logistic issue?

I think it's just a personal thing. If you're docked don't think there's any reason you can't have 'em.

I think the old farts associate them with stripper poles and that crazy rap music. I like them if they're done right.....I don't mind LEDs either.

You'll have the Secret Service after you with those red lights....................looking to do business:)

That's also how I see it. You can use the chick magnets that look good to you and I will do what looks good to me.
