205 Sport thread?

! I almost DIDN'T post this up because it was the 205 thread but, I figured you all wouldn't mind.... More than happy to share any info! Oh, by the way, I see you installed that Monster Tower.... Looks great on the boat! They make some really great products and their customer service is exceptional!

Thanks...very happy with the tower so far, and the company itself.

And of course I dont mind a 185-er chipping in, as it isnt my thread. But be careful, Kenny is ornery and may give you some lashes with the cat o'nine tails :wow:

Haw! Nah, jk, Kenny is easy too, I think. Besides, your boat is basically the same frikkin thing anyway as a 205. I still like to see set ups like yours...it looks awesome. I want tower speakers next year.

Well, I haven't been paying attention or I would have posted here a long time ago.

We bought our '07 205 Sport in February of 2007 and had to wait until April to get it out on the lake and enjoy it.

We've got the 5.0 carb engine. Takes two or three tries to get it going when cold, but after that it fires right off. I added a Faria depth finder with air and water temp. Looks very close to the other guages.

We're tickled with it, it's just the right size and goes like stink, too. We've gotten to 50 mph (GPS measuered) on the lake with a light ripple on the water. Can only do 47 mph when it's smooth as glass.

The pics are from Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho.

Yea, their stuff is pretty heavy duty. When I first got the stuff for the tower I was like, whoa! All of the parts are thick as heck and seem to be able to give years of service.

You will love having a mirror now, makes a HUGE difference in driving the boat. You can now watch the wake and keep it clean for the rider by studying it. Watch the curl...if it seems to wash out a bit, increase speed, starts to flatten, slow down..

I truly hope your leg will be fine. Just take it easy and go slow. It may be a good time to practice slides and surface tricks as they put far less stress on your legs. Make short runs and rest it. Good luck, and above all hope you have FUN!!!

DOn't worry...Ill be pulling out in about 3 weeks as well.

However, I look at it as the beginning of the next 3 seasons...the beautiful fall colors and making fires in the fire pit drinking hot chocolate, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the crisp air of fall...then a (hopefully) snowy winter for skiing and snowboarding and snowmobiling, snowmen and snowball fights, roaring fires in the fireplaces and wood stoves, snuggling under blankets with a loved one....ahhh....yes, the boat gets put away, but just as good is everything that follows the boat taking its winter nap. :smt001

I live in Michigan and I will be going out on St. Clair on Saturday. One last day left in the year....supposed to be 81 deg. You may want to reconsider your decision to winterize....

Yeah - I was looking at the weather. Looks nice and I'm sure it will be even nicer after my boat is put away. :smt021

I just had my drive serviced because of the lube leak so I'm thinking it would be a good time to put it away for the year. Our weekends are filling up so its a good time to winterize the boat also.

Hey folks! New to the site! Have a new last year 205 Sport. The wife and I love it. Hopefully can get it some of my wanted mod's done this winter. Good to see what others have done!

Was out on Anchor Bay all day Friday and Saturday. Awesome weather, not sure how many of those we'll have.

Whoa Everyone... Bumpy ride here in Houston the last week or so.... Just now able to get back online and catch up with my browsing.....

Still without power, but able to get online from work....

Kenny....

Just saw your post about Hurricane Ike in this thread....

We weathered the storm unscathed.... But have been with out power now for 11 days! That's ok, I'm on generator power, so all is well! No damage to the boat (I keep it in dry storage, trailered), so I'm good there.... How did you all make out there in LaGrange?

Oh yeah, glad to hear your mirror came in... You won't be dissappointed!

Glad you didnt get alot of damage. I know it sucks to be without regular power, but at least you have a generator. As for our weather for Ike, we got some winds in the 30's, but didnt get a drop of rain. Would have liked some of the rain as we are in a drought, but I guess we should feel fortunate it didnt come right over us.

We took the boat out to Somerville last weekend, the mirror was a blessing. My wife got up on the wakeboard for the first time and now she is hooked. Just gotta keep her up once she gets up lol I boarded some, but took it easy, just getting over my leg injury. Sure was nice to get out in the water though :smt001

Anyone have pictures of the factory tower on the 205 folded.

Was messing around with mind this past weekend and I couldn't get it to fold, not without pulilng it apart completely. I though once you loosened the four rubber knobs and took out the two fixed allen head pins it should fold no?

Thanks for you help.

I dont have pics, but I just take out the 2 bottom black knobs completely and fold it all the way forward. I have some pads that I put on the tower so it doesnt lay on the boat. Anyways thats all I do to lay mine down so I can get it in my carport.

Just bought a 2008 205 Sport about two months ago. Has every thing except for the tower. Awesome boat. Haven't had it wide open yet but plan on getting back to the lake one more time before cold weather. The only thing I'm curious about, is when I'm coming out of the hole it doesn't seem quick. I still have the aluminum prop on it, but plan on putting a stainless steel on it as soon as I check on the W.O.T. I'm thinking of going with a 19 pitch. It has the carb. 5.0L (220 HP) V8. I was also wondering if anybody has put corsa exhaust on their 205 sport. When I bought mine the dealer said that it was not a option, but I contacted Corsa and they said they can make a custom side exit exhaust for around $1300. I will try to get some pictures of my boat as soon as I can.

Well looks like I'm really late chiming in here, but I bought my 2005 200 sport back at the beginning of August last season. I had a great time with it for a couple/few months. I think that it's the same as the 205, just that the 205 started in 2006.. right?

I'm ready to start doing a few upgrades and was trying to search for 200/205 sport specific threads for stereo upgrade, battery upgrade with switch, prop, etc.. Looks like I've come to the right place!

Here's a good shot of my boat:
