If anyone is going to the show next week, and if they are displaying the new evo three, I would be interested to hear about the changes in the new system and see some pictures.
In particular, I was hoping to get feedback from people who are using Evo one or two now, and the changes And...
I have been planning a family trip to Catalina for the past few months. I finally got a few days where my wife and Kids (young adults) were available.
A friend and I were running the boat up the coast (90 miles), and my wife and kids would meet me there later, via ferry.
We left...
I recently had coolant samples tested for my Cummins, MDKBJ, generator. It’s a 2 year old gen, normal run times, serviced as needed.
The oil samples were fine but the test notes the Carboxylate “failed”.
Interesting, because the lab gave an overall pass, but fail on this particular...
There are not many posters on here from the so cal area, but I will post this anyway. Low 60s in the bite. That is warm for this time of year. El Niño or La Niña?
This a two part coating that is applied to props, rudders, etc. It needs to be applied often, 1-2 years. It is fairly common in other parts of the world to prevent corrosion and fouling of the props in salt. Has anyone had any experience with this product?
A friend of mine does solo runs to the islands on a 19 ft skiff he built himself. He has hundreds of trips since the mid 90's. Check out his vid of a mako.

I am considering purchasing the 50 gal bladder, and lashing it on the bow. I would run 1/2 in hose, about 20 ft to fill the tanks through the deck plug. It will be used once or twice a year to hit some offshore islands.
Has anyone used these? In particular:
Did the fuel transfer easily from...
A previous thread brought up the scratching of windows that are below the water line. Dennis mentioned a product by 3M.
I sent the following email to 3M today:
I have a boat that is in saltwater all year. It has four windows, that are each about 4 sq. ft. The windows are getting scratched up...
Here is my list. I have Volvos with stern drives. I know there are only a few boats on here with these. Anyone have any other items they carry for emergency repairs?
I have been around during the El Ninos in past decades, but this one is a stand out. The water in the bay was high 70's, and outside it is mid 70's. The fishing has been phenomenal, although the one day we tried, we struck out on the tuna. And the best part, so-cal should get some great rain...
I forgot the recipe in regards to the amount of bleach to add to the water tanks.
I searched some old threads on here. Does this sound correct:
-To sanitize water, and drink it: ½ teaspoon bleach per 5 gal water. I only add bleach periodically if it’s been sitting in the tank for...
Has anyone ever used a seat like this in some weather?
Or, any input on the single pedestal seat made by Seaspension?
i don't plan on crossing the English Channel in the near future. But the Pacific can get rolly almost every afternoon, and I am looking for some relief for my cranky lower back.
I have a 3HP electric motor, Travel 1003 S, 520 WH, Torqeedo.
I have a 10 day trip coming up, and I am trying to find the 12V , DC battery charger that plugs into the round cig lighter.
I have the AC charger, but I would have to run my gen for many hours to charge the battery, so I would like...
Has anyone made a run there this Summer?
We are doing a 10 day trip at the end of July. SD – DP – Big Geiger Cove – Two Harbors – Avalon - SD.
We are hitting Avalon on a Monday morning, so I am hoping I can get on an inside mooring, and not placed outside by the Casino.

We all read these news accounts in our local papers. I thought this one was interesting, because the alleged was also an ambulance chasing lawyer, specializing in drunk driver cases. Unfortunately a young...
I am heading out there this summer. I found out today they are on Red Alert when it comes to water. If you go, don't plan on getting any from the dock. I heard the island company is also restricting hotel guests on the island due to water issues. May portend our future here in CA if things don't...
