I have found a small water leak coming from the center panel of glass on the front windows of my 400DB. From the outside there is caulking around frame to seal it to the fiberglass, and then clear (silicone?) caulking joining the glass panel to the frame. This clear caulking is covered by a...
I don't have a pic of them holding the ladder out, as that was my previous boat. But I can send you a pic of the plastic pieces I am talking about. I have them on my current boat to hold the eissenglass off the bars. They just snap on the bars. Pm me your email address. I am on the boat now...
Our lab goes up the ladder on the 400db without much trouble. It sits in the water about 10 degrees from vertical. On our previous boat the ladder didn't have enough angle, so she kept falling backwards. I used a couple of those plastic things that clip on the camper top bars to protect...
I would keep an eye on the clearance to the fiberglass when you load it up. Seems like a lot of torque on the bolted joints. You may need to add support across the joint (webbing). Otherwise looks like a great plan. I have ben thinking about adding a few inches to my Hurley supports to my...
I find that I am hunched over and reaching forward for the steering wheel. The seat is all the way down and slide pretty far forward. my steering has tilt but I don't think it will extend. Is there such a thing as an extension for the steering column? Anyone else experience this?
I am having similar issues with fuel in the oil (more fuel than oil) and a small amount of seeping onto the stringer. How does the fuel get into the oil cavity? Is it the gasket that is between them? Pulley turns smoothly so I think the bearings are fine, but the seal should probably be replaced.
I removed mine last weekend. Not sure how different your setup is, as I have mechanical fuel pumps and you would have electric. I crawled infront of the engine and removed the three bolts which hold the pump on. The upper bolt also holds the remote oil filter bracket so I just set it aside...
A few weeks ago I purchased the great lakes application for my iPhone. The price had been dropped from $50 to $9.99 so I figured what the hell. In short, this app is amazing for the money! The data in my area (Georgian Bay) is top notch, and the interface is extremely simple. It downloads all...
I am upgrading my windlass to a 1000w unit. Current wiring is 6ga and I should be running 2-4 gauge. Can I use the two 6ga together as one side, and add a single 2ga as the return?
I am being told that using the two 6ga wires as a single 3ga is not a good idea. I was thinking of using these as the positive and a new 2ga as the negative. Any comments from experienced wiring guru's? I'm just not sure I have the room to pull two new wires though!
Thanks
I think that chart reads round trip... So my 40ft run is actually 80ft which would mean 2 awg. Regardless, that chart is much more reasonable than the ones I was looking at. I was thinking of using the two 6awg together as one side, then a 2 or 1awg as the other side. If I try to run a pair...
Rope only GOOD needs to be replaced. Got a great deal on a 1000w Quick Antares with 100ft rope,100 3/8 G4 chain. Problem is the existing wire is only 6 gauge. Not a fun cheap or cheap job to replace wire. Online calculators are saying 0/3 gauge for 80 amps over a 40ft run. This seems way too...
