I was wondering what I should expect to pay for a 400 Sedan in the 2000 - 2001 range with Gas and Cherry. We travel about 60 hours per year so gas is fine. I have looked at Yachtworld but the prices look really high. They are around $200ish. I would expect to pay no more than $150,000.

Assuming a decent boat what would the range be and where is a good place to look?

22 knot "cruise" with 454's ?

Sure...

Actually, that's about right. Gas 40's are common up here, and nearly all of my friends & neighbors with FI gas 400DB's cruise in that range.

As you know, diesels in this size have to overcome extra weight, so they're not necessarily faster at cruise. The gassers will drink some fuel though!

(apples to oranges, but to make the point: I cruise faster with gas than the 410DA CSR members do with 3126's)

I just checked BUC Value. a 2001 40' Sedan Bridge in average condition was $212,500-$233,000.

I think the price of around $200K to start is in the ball park for this economy.

That really seems like a LOT to me. A buddy paid 250 in 2007 for an '03 with low-hour 480CE diesels. Hell, I hope it's true... it bodes well for me.

That boat is sweet! OP I would be all over this boat, forget the gas, here is your boat and it looks cherry!

Gas will kill you in that boat.

Steal a 400 Sedan..... But Make sure you get full market value for your boat first!
