What should I expect to pay for a 2000 - 2002 400 Sedan Bridge Boat with Gas

So in essence, you want to steal a 400 DB, (50K less than asking price) but yet you want the typical asking price in today's market for your boat. The salesman at B&E just sold a 2007 340 for 132K, and told my friend with a 2003/04 340 that he could only expect to get around 100K for his.

I don't like it any more than you do, this market sucks. Hopefully the resale value of our boats will increase in the coming years. But realize that there are people out there that will try to steal your boat from you, just as you are trying to steal the 400.

Or in other words, as the saying goes, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Maybe you might be able to pull it off, stranger things have happend for sure, but I would be suprised if either of the two goals happened at the prices you are looking at.

Sorry I think you missed the point. If I go to Yacht World a similar boat to mine is anywhere between 150,000 and 175,000 so obviously out of wack. So, my question is more like - people ask like $200,000 + for Gas in a 2000-2001 but what is the real price. I am not totally sure on my boat but I figure around 120,000 but i might be wrong. So in essense I am wondering what the 400SB are actually selling for, yacht world is not accurate in my opinion

Gas 400 DB's from soldboats on Yachtworld.

There has been 2 Gas powered 2000-2001 400s sold in the past year 1-For 165K and the other for 100K.

As far as your current boat 2003-2004 340 Sundancers have sold for the cheapest of 78K and the highest of 127K in the past year. The most money the most current one has sold for out of 32 sold Jan 2009-now was 105K. Prices and locations varied but that should give you a spread of what to expect. The majority seem to be 110-115. But they were earlier than November/Dec. 09.

Now as far as your quest for a 400 DB? I think your 150K mark could buy you a very nice Diesel 400, as long as you are not only looking at freshwater boats.

Personally, I am partial to the generator panel attachment method.......

For $150K one would think the seller, even if it is a bank, would invest 50¢ in fasteners.

No pride of ownership in that one from the previous. I almost bought the same year as that one two years ago in way better condition for $159k. Overall has some roughness to it, If I was after that I would pay no more than $115k, period. JMHO, good luck.

Exactly low $100's - that is the problem, the asking prices are way out! They listed that boat for almost $150,000? What is that about?

BTW - one pic showa s RLC-100 Point pad. Is that used for the spot light? Also - which prop looks damaged?

Both of them.

A 2001 400DB with gas engines nshould run around $100K to 150K in this economy. the cruse will be aroun 18-20 knots.
I have a 2001 with the Cummins 6CTA8.3 450 diesel engines. I run at 2200 rpms cruse and get between 23 to 24 knots.I bought it in 2008 for $218,500. it was in great condition low hours 450 hr. it was dirty and needed some TLC.
Even though the engines add about 4 tons to the weight of the boat the engine torque more than makes up for it. I burn about 22-24 GPH at cruse. gas engine will burn a lot more at cruse in this type of boat.
The gas engine version is a good boat and if your not going to run her alot of hours per season a good choice except docking will be more of a pain because of the less torque produced by the engines. you are going to have to muscle the boat more if there are winds.
Forget the prices in Yacht World and the Buc Book. in this economy they don't mean much.asking price is asking price. they were asking $249,500 for my boat the bottom line is the best they could do was my offer.
Just my two cents worth from owniong this boat two seasons.

The 2004 item number 120545930224 on E-bay stopped bidding at $101,100 - then expired. The Dealer mentioned he had some dealers offer $165,000 but did not say when.

I question that statement as factual information.

This dealer may be BS'ing.

In this economy a dealer is willing to part with $165,000 on speculation in hopes of selling this boat for more than $165,000 given the tight financing realities of today?

I boat my sea ray 400 sedan bridge 1996
the survey came out about 53000 over what i bought it for
gas engens is ok for as long as you don't put more than 50 or 60 hour per year mine had 454th and planed easy no problem what so ever full gas and 3 people on board just you have to find the right seller i know of few out there

I have a 2001 400 Sedan Bridge with Cat 3126 Diesels. If you can go for the added expense get diesels, do NOT go gas on a boat this big. It WILL be harder to sell one day too! This is my first diesel and I love it. This will be my third season with it.

While it is my 8th season with my boat, I agree. GET DIESELS!
