Ordered a new car.

My one and only speeding ticket was in my 1973 Impala. Officer said he had to do 120 to catch me. I was 17 and had that thing floored. 111 mph. I was racing another guy.

I had three of my best friends in the car and I just finished a doubleheader. It was around midnight on July 3. I pulled over but the other driver took off. Which is what really helped me.

In the backseat was a case of beer with only four bottles left. The trunk had three coolers of beer, ready for a day of water skiing on July 4.

He made us pour out the four beers, never opened the trunk. He ended up giving me a ticket for going 100 miles an hour and a speed contest Ticket.

He had gotten the other guy’s license plate, so he let us go so he could go and catch the other guy
My friend got a XKE Jag for high school graduation. He got a speeding ticket going 156mph shortly after, that was pretty fast for the '60's. His dad parked the car and held on to the keys for quite a while after.:D

There should be credits on the MSRP. At least that's what GM has done. Can't expect them to drop the price because they are putting close to original sales prices into 2 year old trades.
Yes, on mine they gave a 50 buck credit per item, they called it an 'inconvenience credit', someday if they ever get what they need it'll be installed. o_O

Don’t get me started on speeding tickets…. I have a speeding ticket lawyer. I would have to go online and take a driver education course for three years straight until last year…..I gave my kids $50 to take the test for me. :)

Got my first cycle that way, 1972 CL350. Kid was driving it like a fool, father sold it to my dad, 2 weeks old, half price what they paid new. Kid was pissed, I was happy.

My first bike GS750… bought it with my own money when I was 17….. Parents were divorcing so snuck the purchase under the radar.. my grandfather was beside himself over the bike. He gave me his 72 Impala 2 door with a 350 4 barrel if I promised to sell the bike. The car worked a lot better in the winter :)

Edit: I clicked on the wrong one, mine was a red GSL 1000.

Speaking of grandfather, first summer I had that bike, grandpa had put down fresh asphalt driveway over his rock drive, he was so proud. One hot summer day I parked the bike on that shiny new black drive and the kickstand proceeded to leave a nice deep divot. From then on every time he heard me coming he ran out the house with a block of wood to put under kickstand. Good times; I miss him.

No pictures from the 70's but my first was a Suzuki TS185. That bike bit me a couple of times trying to learn how to wheelie it and then trying to keep up with a couple of motocross bikes on the trails. Banged up knees (trying to wheelie), broken collarbone and dislocated shoulder (trying to be Hurricane Hannah) that still bothers me. My second was a CB550. The last two were a ZX14 (hit 178 mph on it - garmin gps) and a CVO Road Glide.

I arena raced my son on a 250 4 stroke ….. not good. The last straw from mom was when he went over the handle bars and the front wheel of the bike ran over his chest and neck to his ear…. Tire left a perfect bruise of the knobby tread pattern…. Mom was not impressed

I moved up to a Triumph 1971 Bonneville, loved that bike. When I moved from Ohio to Maryland I couldn’t bring it so traded it to buddy got his .44 Magnum. Miss the bike, still have the gun. Few years back, I bought a used Honda Shadow. Sold it after 2 years barely used it, fun was gone, I guess I got old and careful. The .44 will rock your world, blow out your ear drums, it’s a beast.

I was tempted many times to get a 600cc sport bike but never did... saw to many accidents and then my brother about killed himself on his...

After owning a few dirt bikes in my teens, I purchased my first motorcycle at 20yo... a Kawasaki GPZ 1100. Rode the bike for about a year when a woman ran a stop sign and I t-boned her. Spent my 21st birthday in the hospital and was there 7-weeks with 3 broken bones in my left leg/one was a compound fracture, broken pelvis, fractured left hip socket, lacerated left foot, bruised kidney and a concussion. They put a titanium plate in my leg and threaded rod in my pelvis, so the bones would stay in place while they healed..... both of which will be there for life.

After that, I gave up riding and took up sky diving, which offered a better adrenaline rush and was a lot safer!

Been living in Florida now about 12 years and I am amazed at how many cycle wrecks here, and a lot of nasty ones. Not for me.

I bought one of these when they came out. Great bike, paid around 3,200 bucks for it. Should have spent the money on upgrading the family car though. I was still drinking pretty heavy when I got it although I was trying not to, took me a few years to adjust to being a family man.;) Anyway I survived some real shenanigans one night. I just stopped downtown to have a couple beers, before the night was over I did 100mph on main st, only 3 blocks long...and then it was burnout time. Yup, hold my beer...you could just boil that tire through the first 3 gears, I had the town filled up with smoke.

In those days a good portion of mainstreet businesses were taverns, so there were plenty of witnesses, no way I was going to get away with my wife not hearing about it.:(

I bought the this car last fall. It had 3k on odometer. It came out of Pittsburg, 19 model.
The mid engine car just didn’t cut being like a vett without the long hood.

If we're going to keep this up, we should probably start a motorcycle thread.
This is my first "real" street bike; 1972 Triumph T150. 750 triple. It would go 130mph bone-stock. 'Not bad for the time period, and it would outrun the Honda 750's that were built to dominate the British motorcycle market. I think it was more the poor workmanship and Lucas electrics that instead brought the Brits down.
