Ordered a new car.

Some of you puppies may not know but back in the day it was normal to go to a dealer and spend the afternoon ordering a new car with exactly what options you wanted. None of this package crap. Every single option was custom built on YOUR car.
Ya, it was how it was done back in the day. Typically done in February so your shiny new car arrived in spring after the snow/salt so you got one year before it started turn into a rusted hulk.
Oh, and immediately after delivery you took it to Ziebart to have the whole underside coated in tar to hold off the rust for maybe a year.
Good times.
Man, you are really old!

This is an ordered car with options I spec’d. All Porsches are custom built and it is rare to find two alike. Having the car Ziebarted voids the factory corrosion warranty which runs for 12 years. I’m not too worried about picking the car up in February as it will be my daily driver.

Yeah, Ziebart was a thing back before the manufacturers worried about corrosion...

that’s when “build sheets” where used they usually put them under the back seat it listed ever item that was ordered on that specific car it’s gold to find them when restoring older cars now. I never ordered a new car that way 1st new car was a junk dodge colt vista wagon 1986 my son was still in the hospital after being born so I needed a new car. Off the lot was usually my way of buying cars until this Bronco(online shopping) now you check the packages like you said. The Ole days where fun.

I ordered my new '96 truck back in September '95 (my first new vehicle), where we got to pick everything we wanted on it. V10 (488 cubic inch!), 5-speed manual, 4x4, extended cab (seats six!), many other things. When it came to the block heater, the salesman suggested it's not really needed around here. Like hell; it gets cold in the winter, and it'll be parked outside! "Go ahead and put it on." "It's really only for diesels." "How much is it?" "Twenty dollars." "PUT IT ON!" Yeah, it was used all the time in winter. I kind of miss that truck. The wife referred to it as Invincible. It was meaty...
