What allot of rain will do

One of the things that CSR adds to our lives is that you learn something new every day. For example, I just learned that there is an ignore button. I haven't needed any help ignoring those that have made made it to "my list" thus far, but it is nice to know it exists.

Darn it Frank, I found the "ignore list", but now I've got to go look for the "ignore button"...

Whats This?

Its right there.

I'm glad your parents could swing 25$ for you to think you are funny.

Again you are a waste of thread. Every thread is full of your "opinion" of nothing.

I'll answer questions and help people with real boating problems out with real answers. That's my contribution until folks like you are weeded out.

Your retirement must really suck if all ou have to do all day is hang around a boating forum wishing you had a boat.

Carter,

I have to admit, I get some sort of perverse pleasure out of managing my own ignore list. If they make it to my list, they may eventually get the right answer to a question, but it won't be from me.....................

And, Rick? Rick who......??.....See, works like a charm.

Can you see me now? How about now? Knock, knock. Hello. Anyone home? Damn ignore list.

Alex, I guess you're not smart enough to find the ignore button yet !!. .

Here's more of them for ya. . . . . . . . . . .

I just want to chime in here before this thread gets locked.

I bet that's wingtard's boat.

You do, its called the Club Level. I just deleted a bunch of posts that break the rules. You guys can feel free to re-post those responses but please leave the direct insults and personal attacks out.

Jim, in mine and apparently a number of other members views, Post #4 by Summer Fun II was a direct insult and/or personal attack on the original poster. Why is it still? Do you consider it a fair post?

My goodness, get over it already. This sounds like kids in a schoolyard.

The OP showed some pics of a boat sinking. Another poster said "it looks like you sat back and did nothing". The OP explained thats not what happened and that he did call the owner. Then all the school girl stuff ensued after that. Should have been a done deal after the OP addressed the accusation. I don't follow who likes who and all the childish drama around here so I have no idea what their history is. But when I read the first post I too wondered why the OP did not do anything to stop it. If I put up pictures like that I would also explain how I called Sea Tow, the USCG, the owner and whoever else to try to get it stopped asap. I would have been knocking on the guys door or asking his neighbors if they know how to get in touch with him. I would include that with the pictures so that somebody would not have to ask me "did you do anything about it". The OP obviously did all this, but did not put it in his post. So another user pointed it out. Get over it people.

I have been watching long enough and now I am out of popcorn, so I'll chime in now. It's amazing how so many people come to so many conclusions reading one simple post. First, most people don't tell you their life story in a post and therefore keep it short & sweet. When you read the origianl post, notice the captions underneath the pictures. Time of first picture, when Sea Tow got there, when the float team got there and when the boat was gone. Now, by no means am I an expert, but given the timeline, somebody did something! Sea Tow charges a few unless the boat is insured by the owner, and if the owner did not call them I don't think they are going to show up without knowing the possibility of getting paid given that it was not an emergency situation. Given the time it takes to notify the owner and the fact it was not an emergency Sea Tow showed up in a reasonable amount of time. The USCG is not going to dispatch anybody unless there is the possibility of injury to persons. That part was obvious, and in the event this boat was in the middle of the channel, I still think they would not have shown up because it was not on the ICW. I have seen wrecks on the ICW that have not been removed for months. This Donzi was definitely not a priority of the USCG.

From the photos, it appears the poster lived across the channel. Which in order to get to the house he had to boat over or drive. Now, I don't have map, but that drive could have been a long way given the area. If he did get to the house and nobody is home, does he grab a bucket and commence to bailing? As I stated earlier somebody did something and the timeline proves it. Who did it I don't know, but whoever it was took the correct steps. Because if I saw a picture of somebody in the boat bailing that to me would be a problem.

I think when we read a post, we need to be careful to assume certain information (we all know what asume really means).

With all that being said, I never thought at one moment when I read the first thread that the poster stood by and did nothing. Maybe that is a half full glass perception.

In the end, I hope this guy had insurance, and maybe he did, that is why the process seems slow to some. If my boat were in the same situation, I wouldn't panic, I would probably call ALLSTATE before I called anybody else, because noboby is going to get their fast enough to save it.

Dang, this has been fun. Kind of like watching a snowball fight when we were kids. Wassamatta, you guys run out of snow, or did some of you just decide to take your toys and go home?
