What allot of rain will do

Just a little FYI, I know Randy (Odyssey) personally. He would and does go out of his way to help fellow boaters. He has helped me several times when I needed assistance.

Randy, don't let him get to you.

Ken

THis board Never ceases to Disappoint me, and this Post definitely brings my point home.. Like Frank Said, Never jump onto a sinking boat, you may find yourself DEAD..and Odessy did plenty if he called the owner and notified....
We must let intelligence prevail here guys...Stupidity has dominated for way too long.!!!!

Furthermore, that area is privately owned residences and going to the boat that is taking on water with no risk to humans would be trespassing on private property. The owner might be grateful or he may try to hold you responsible for damage to the boat because all you could do it let it sink enough to free it from the lift then tie it to his dock.
/QUOTE]

Years ago I owned a marine construction company and a guy a few canals away from me had a davit snap and his boat went in the drink. This guy was a piece of work form the beginning and when a friend of mine who lived on the canal called and told me what happened (within a few minutes of it happening) I drove over and watched the boat go down. I knew if I touched the boat I would get sued. Well, in the end I got sued becasue I installed the davit alhough i had nothing to do with a bad weld. You have to be very careful when touching somebody's property these day. Too many people are looking for freebies!

Hmmmm, isn't that what our whole welfare system is based on, and we keep feeding it generation after generation.

I'd like to say "not me" but unfortunately I work and in the end I am paying for everyone else.

I am so glad someone else can see right through this guy... I'm still sceptical if he has ever owned a boat, or "Tug" as he likes to call them.

Good decision Odyssey and any sensable owner with any sort of boating knowledge knows you did the right thing.

You don't get it do you?

You accuse someone of not helping another boater in need, then pass is off by saying "take a chill pill". You are an idiot and everyone on this board knows it.

I'm off the board for a few days and you guys start the winter season without me.:lol::lol:
Is Wayne to callus or is Randy thin skinned? Will this play out with everyone deciding by personality preference, party line, opinion, or fact? Let the games begin.....

Hmmmm, isn't that what our whole welfare system is based on, and we keep feeding it generation after generation.

Don't folks understand that they will still owe the difference in the price sold to loan amount? I would think that having the financed product/house in good repair would bring a better price and lower the amount still owed.

Typical of some of the boaters I've met the past few years. It's just today's society of "it's not my problem now" people, Mike.

Isn't it coincidental that so many threads come down to the same conclusion: irresponsible people doing irresponsible things.:smt021

The above are from other current threads. MM

When do we start talking about pot bellied pigs? Thank god winter is coming soon, this board has been way too boring over the last couple months.

We already have!!!

And I was hoping to break the "pig" thread.......dang

NEVER!!!

My favorite CSR post of all time was from Gary:

OK... wait... wait... Another question...

If your boat is at the dock with your wife and pet sitting inside and some people walk by and say "Man... look at that pig", do you know which of the three they are talking about?

It suprises me that you find this post so funny that you have to repeat it. That is a extremely insulting comment that the speaker would not have the balls to say to anyones face. I can tell you if that was said to me this 'hick from the sticks' would dish out a ass kicking that the speaker would never forget.

Was on a friends boat and we came across floating coolers, life jackets... Slowed down and assessed the situation and saw the bow of a boat floating in the water with some kids in the water. Surrounding boaters worked to get the kids out of the water. The MO water patrol was on the bow of the boat looking for the missing kid. Ends up the kid drown. We worked to slow down boat traffic. I would never touch a boat like the one sinking. No life was in danger and given that the lift broke. That is a very dangerous situation with no body at risk. If it was a situation where a bilge pump just needed to be turned on that is completely different. Ultimately getting experts to handle that situation and notify folks is the best you can do.

It appears that, one-by-one, the low lifes are identifying themselves by their responses.

Hey smart ass - you never answered my question....... tell me, when a boat is sinking right in front of you, what can you do to stop it?

well?
by looking at the first pic it was too late for a shotgun blast to the transom to let the water run out.....

Woody, It is just a joke, and in that context it is hilarious. Most jokes wouldn't be appropriate said to whom they make fun of. Just check out the joke thread, it is part of human nature to joke. MM

Way too early for that, we have a lot of cruising left to do before it cools down to the 50's.
