What's the name of your boat?
After loosing my leg to cancer and subsequent nine months of chemotherapy, my wife and I thought is was only fitting to reward our "all clear" with a new boat purchase. Upon signing the documents we needed a name ASAP for coast guard documentation. Hence "Speedy Recovery" became the name for our 353 Formula Fastech.
Our 440 Express Bridge became "MAGNUM" because its just dang big. And we have a cool graphic that is the stamped casing of a 44 magnum bullet that says... "Do you feel lucky?"
In an effort to seal the deal with the Admiral, I proposed paying tribute to her hard work and hours as a physician. I pitched the name Naught On Call.
The fact that her maiden name is Naughton was just a coincidence!
So after 30 years of sailing, we purchased our first Sea Ray - '05 280. When we told our daughter who lives in Australia, she said that's brilliant. From there it evolved into "Brilliant Idea". We hope it will be!
You'll be happy to know that the Soggy Cam is up and running again. They got hit hard with the hurricane, but the bar is open, and the web cam looking out on the beach is alive again! They haven't opened the sandcastle hotel yet, but at least the bar is stocked with Painkillers!
The name is "Crew Lounge" When I originally posted, there was a sig pic that showed the boat. When the forum was changed to the new system the pic was lost. I haven't figured out how to put it back.
This guy. My mascot. Quack, Quack.
When we bought our boat last year we struggled with names, but finally settled on one suggested by a very close friend. It is a take on our last name and when we spend time on the boat. "Weekend Bender". You can also take bender as the meaning of going on a binge of "drinking", having fun, or whatever, which is what we do on the lake!!
My first name is Kal and I'm naughty, Hence Nauti-Kal!
We had to make frequent bathroom stops with our first boat.
This made a bathroom a requirement when we looked to upgrade, cause you never know when you “Gotta Go”!
A Parrothead in the Waste Management business..."Wasted Away".
After owning this one for a year i was having a hard time thinking of a name. Then after walking to my barn and looking at the boats that i have inherited from my great grandfather to my fathers boat it just hit me. Being on the water has always been a family tradition, a tradition that I now share with my wife and kids. Hence the name Tradition.
Take some pictures of the old classic's ........
I coach high school football hence the Name 4th & Goal. Crazy thing is I'm the offensive coordinator. I Should change to defensive side of the ball.
My two classics are a 1956 MFG with mahogany topside. The hull was one of the first fiberglass hulls produced. My second is a 1988 Sea Ray Sorrento s24. She only has 400 hours and is almost mint. It has always been garage kept, never spent more than a week in the water at a time. That was my fathers boat and I grew up on it. When we lost him in 1996 it became sentimental more than anything. When it is time to bring them out of hibernation I will be sure to post some pics.
The name of our boat is HAFNUTZ
And I think I'm just going to leave that right here.
Big Beatles fans, and it's the way we use the boat. No, I don't smoke weed!
Ron DDS will identify with our boat. (Our profession)
We've enjoyed her for ten years now and have no reason to change.....
Was your previous boat "Wizzies?" Saw that on a vanity license plate once.
