We've done this before but with several thousand new members maybe we could have another run at it

Jimi Thing II - is the title of a Dave Matthews song Jimi Thing.

"lately I've been feeling low, a remedy is what I'm seeking, I take a taste of what's below come away to something better, what I want is what I've not got and what I need is all around me"

"if you could keep me floating just for a while, till I get to the end of this tunnel Jimi"

My work schedule is...work 24hrs...off for 48hrs.

Saoires translates to "freedom" or "liberty", which is what going away for the weekend on the boat represents to me.

Dave's going to bust you guys for not searching for this.Whats your Boats name and what does it mean to you

When my wife and I were dating I had a 220OV SeaRay. Recently Divorced I was contemplating selling it. One night I took her out to Dinner on Lake Union in Seattle by boat. While we waited for a table we went into a jewlery store next door and were talking about it was a stupid idea to sell something we both enjoyed so much. In the store she spotted a Necklace with Dolphins on a medallion similar to this one.

My (now)wife loves Dolphins, as they have special meaning to her from when she scattered some of her mother's ashes in the ocean near Catlina Island, the dolphins came to greet them. On the Medallion's tag was a description of the Necklace and how The Dolphin's were symbol's of the Celtic Godess of the Seafarers -Nehalennia.

We bought it immediately, had a great dinner and I told her I think we just found the Name for My Boat.
We sold Nehalennia to by our house in 1998. Without a boat for a full year, we went crazy doing yardwork and drove in a truck for vacations.
In 2000 we found a 230OV "Nehalennia II" which we sold July 07.

We looked, found a bought Nehalennia III in last December 07. Since Nehalennia is tough enough to communicate with on the VHF, I didn't really want to name this boat Nehalennia III. Even though we like the Celtic Name, I'm Icelandic, and proud of the Scandinavian and Viking heritage.
The Scandinaian/Viking Rune for three which is a triangle. So I designed a new Name and design.
It has the Rune symbol for three and added the Three Dolphins to represent the 3 Nehalennias. So we just use Nehalennia.

As a kid growing up in MI I used to walk miles of beaches along Lake Huron looking for treasures that might have washed up on the shore. Didn't find any, but did pick up a nickname of Beachcomber.

In the 70's and 80's when CB radios were the thing to have my CB handle became Beachcomber.

My wife and I met about 6 years ago. She'd never been around boats so I told her if she and I were going to become a "thing" she would have to accept boating as a big part of her life because it was a big part of mine. I owned a 330 Dancer at that time and she fell in love with boating (and me) very fast.

When we were thinking of a name for the 550 I remember my CB handle and suggested Beachcomber. It's easy to say on the radio, fit on the transom and both of us liked it. It fit our style of boating, which it anchoring in out of the way places and exploring in the dinghy. So Beachcomber it became.

Ha ha....I remember those silly CB handles!

At Ease -

My wife and I were both in the military. She retired from the AF after 23 years as an Air Traffic Controller and Recruiter, and I spent 4 years in the AF as a computer technician and 6 years in the Army as an Infantry Drill Sergeant. It seemed fitting.

Previous boat, a Searay 230DA burned to the waterline in a marina fire along with about 90 others. A week later we were searching for a name for our new 270. 'Fired Up' seemed to fit nicely.

Years ago when we started cruising the waterways our friends thought it was a "wild" idea. Since our last name is Rice we named our first cruiser and our next two and current cruiser "Wild Rice".

Normally not superstitious, but sure don't want trouble on the water! So I'm torn between leaving the name"Dream Girl" rather than going thru the "ritual"...lol I will be getting "her" next week and will try it out for a while...

When my wife and I were still running the river on our little jet boat one guy had trouble remembering our names. (Marcy and Ross). So he started calling us "Martini and Rossi" so he would remember. it ended up sticking with many people so we decided it would be a good name for the new boat! Still have to put it on but that's a winter project!

No just take your current bride into the jewlery store more often...I guess

My wife named our boat. We have 2 boys, and when you include me you come up with Three Buoys.

When going out on the water its kinda like getting ready for a date!!Hence " Sea Date"
