It's hard to make light of it, but everyone got off and no one was hurt. Thing's, even a 55 DA, can be replaced.

If it hasn't been posted yet, this happened on Lewisville Lake, one of our home lakes here in the DFW area last weekend, Sunday July 27th.

Apparently it's believed to have been electrical (haven't heard anything official yet, but I'm sure that'll be a while) by the time he grabbed a FE the fire was beyond being safe to try to fight with it so he slid the ski off and got away. Apparently everyone else on board was already out in the water bobbing and enjoying the 100+ degree weather when it started.

We weren't out Sunday but a friend got some of these pic's. These pictures were taken by a couple different people, including some I know personally and some acquaintances but all were posted on a local forum called Lake Pirate Forums (www.lakepirateforums.com). Some of you might find it pretty cool, some might not, but you'll still look! :smt043

Here's how we usually see Gabe's Toy. Party Cove Lewisville Lake. The rest are self explanatory.

Since it comes up a lot, around here anyway, he's known for shooting fireworks off the boat all the time. However, this apparently it's been said it's believed to have been electrical...

I won't make light of it. But the A**hole deserves it for playing with fireworks on a boat. The "electrical" problem is probably for the insurance company. I hope the adjuster talks to some of the locals and stamps his claim "DENIED." Good way to learn a lesson. Sometimes stupid people need to learn it the hard way.

Best regards,
Frank C

Hope that's not too sugar coated for you guys.

Sparklers in the circuit breaker panel?

makes me sick...I feel for the guy whatever he was at fault or not...

I don't. Read my other post from tonight. The fewer of these buttholes on the water, the better.

Best regard,

Frank

Take the sugar coated out of it, what makes you think this guy will not be on the water in a couple of weekends if not this weekend.

What reason (would you think that) would allow an insurance company to deny this claim unless it was intentionally set.

PC usually has 200+ boats tied up and I'm not sure how others in the tie up's weren't closer. But it's crowded and no one that I know that was out there said they saw or heard fireworks at the time. According to the FOx 4 new clip posted, (I was out of town and missed the news about it until I got back) he wasn't even tied up yet. But after it became fully engulfed, apparently they started going off. Luckily it was early enough that PC wasn't even more crowded.

As for the insurance angle, he's in the insurance business, at a level he can buy boats like this. He's only had this one for about a year. I'm sure he's got the next one in the works at MM already.

It doesn't look that bad. A couple of good detail guys should be able to rub that out in no time.

Sorry if my first post in the thread was ambiguous to you. I'll try again.

If he was playing with fireworks on the boat, then the fire was set by the owner's action and the claim should be denied. OK?

If, on the other hand, the raw water injection on one of the diesels failed causing the exhaust to run dry and start a fire, then I'm sorry his boat burned up. Enjoy the next one.
