Posting Images - "How To"

I am loading 640X480 photos with no problem, not sure what 300 dpi would be, if it is 640X480 or less I think the answer would be yes. What size are your 300 dpi photos? I know that 300 dp is 300 dots per inch but the thing here is are they 640X480. I probably did not answer your question but you have something to work with. I hope it helps.

When I resized the photo's to 640X480 X 72 p the pictures download a little larger than thumbnails which do not give any detail. So if becoming a paid member allows me to download without the hassle of resizing that would be great. But I do not have that answer yet.

I am not sure what "640X480 X 72" means? You are able to upload photos that are 640X480. You will need to reduce the dpi until they get to be below 45kb. Click on this link to download Microsofts Image Resizer. It will allow you to resize photos in folders on your computer literally with 2 or 3 clicks, takes about 10 seconds to resize a whole folder to be uploadable. http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

As far as paying for the ability to upload photos that is not something we offer. You can probably go to photobucket.com or some site like that to pay to store photos. Our site will allow any user to store some photos and people who have cared enough to donate some money to have a little extra storage space. I honestly don't know what the exact specs of what you can upload are so to make things easy I have simply told people to keep it less than the dimension/specs above and all should be fine.

Jack,

Save the picture to a free internet site like Photobucket and then copy and paste the IMG code into your posting and your picture will appear with no problem.

Thanks,
I'll give it a try as soon as I get my laptop out of the pool.
That's where it ended up after trying to post signature picture on CSR.

Trying to upload a small picture (16K) to support a post and it says my limit is exceeded by about 1M. I only have about 1.4M in total files uploaded. If I delete all my old pictures, I assume that the past posts will no longer show the pictures. Is this your intention? It will leave a lot of incomplete posts out there.

I can use photobucket, but I find attachments to be more convenient for small stuff.

I paid once. Are you looking for supporters to pay each year? I am willing, just trying to understand what you are expecting.

Great pics Jim! You've "broken the code". I tried downloading the Microsoft resizer, but it's for XP - I'm running Vista...

Bill Gates...don't get me started.

Carter check these out. I have downloaded other programs from the Sourceforge site without any problems, both the VSO and the SF resizers are for XP,Vista, the VSO also says Win7. I feel these are safe but I always say proceed with caution, just make sure your AV is up to date just in case something has slipped by. I hope this helps.

I used a free tool called Prish Resizer. Found it on a Google search. Now, after getting some pics up, I think I'm maxed out on total kb's uploaded. Thought it was a limit per photo, not per user. So, now I get to learn how to delete posts to allow future posting. Got spoiled on Facebook with posting pics I guess.

:)

or use photobucket, it`s free

Managing attachments sure seems harder since the upgrade. For the life of me I am unable to delete my old photos to allow for uploading some new ones. What obvious step am I missing?
