Our forum allows you to upload images to just about any post you can make. Uploading an image is easy. When creating a new post, after you have finished typing your message, click on the "Add An Attachment" button instead of the "Submit" button. This will bring up a page where you can find the image on your computer in the "browse" box and simply click OK to upload it. There really is not much more to it than that. One catch...the images can't be the size of a poster! You will need your images to be no larger than 200KB. Ideally they should be no wider than 400 pixels.

What is the easiest way to accomplish this for big images? Go to microsoft.com and download their image resizer power toy. Once the image resizer is installed you can simply "right" click on an image in your computer and choose the option to resize it to a smaller size which you can set to be 400 pixels wide. Easy as pie. Any image that is less than 400 pixels wide will almost always be less than 200kb.

If you have your images stored on the web already you can link to them using the following code: [img***]http://imagelocation.com[/img***]
***you will need to remove the stars*** in the code (if we would not have put the stars in the example it would search for an image)

Call me stupid, but i cant figure out how to get a pic up in the "Image gallery."

Ron it's very easy.

Don't use a size bigger than 100kb
Name a tittle, put your image in it and name the Description.

It didn't work for me also, but now it works!

Succes Peter

thanks peter. problem was i didnt bother with the title or description. guess that's mandatory. something i discoverd by accident --- if the file extension is capitalized, it wont take the image. inotherwords, make it myboat.jpg, not myboat.JPG

I will try the photo technique, as described

What is the new size limits for pictures and pictures in the photo Gallery

Chuck, if you go to upload, pick a category, click continue, in the upper left of the section that you load from it says, file (max size 19.5kb), not sure why so small. I know it means that I will have to resize everything I have again to load here, my photobucket files are all too big.

Midway, the file restrictions get loosened significantly for "sponsors". I have made the photo gallery free to registered members but some limits do need to be made as bandwidth is neither free nor unlimited. Microsoft makes a very nice tool that makes resizing whole batches of photos as easy as about 5 clicks. Do a google search for "Microsoft Powertoys Resizer". It doesn't even require you to open a program, just click the files you want to resize in a folder, then a few more clicks, and the resized copies are placed in the same folder.

I kinda figured somethin like dat

I'll change it to 45kb so at least people can have "full size" 640X480 pics.

What does loosen mean, and how much does it cost?

Thanks but it still does not answer the ? about picture posting. Does this mean I can upload 30 pictures at 300 dpi and not have to resize my existing pictures for $25.00?

I am loading 640X480 photos with no problem, not sure what 300 dpi would be, if it is 640X480 or less I think the answer would be yes. What size are your 300 dpi photos? I know that 300 dp is 300 dots per inch but the thing here is are they 640X480. I probably did not answer your question but you have something to work with. I hope it helps.
