Official 390 E.C. Thread

I would think another piece of teak next to the existing would do it. Be careful not to create a triping hazard.

Ok, maybe it isn't sexy. It is a simple solution though. Tape it off right and apply carefully and its not obtrusive.

I am just finally getting around to applying for my MMSI 9 digit number so that my VHF radio with DSC can talk with my Garmin 720s GPS chartplotter. Amongst other things on the application form, they want to know "The Capacity for Persons on Board" (maximun number of persons on board) Does anyone know what that would be for this particular boat? There is no name plate on my boat with this information.

~Ken

Ken, there's no evidence of that information aboard my boat, nor in the owner manual

Thanx Pietro. I don't know why they need to know this. I will probably have to contact Sea Ray for this unless somebody might have an original brochure that would have this info.

Just pick a reasonable number and write it in there. That number is there in case you ever push the distress button. Then when the authorities get the signal, they have an idea about the maximum number of people that potentially have to be rescued.

Getting geared up for repairs over the winter. Wanted to ask if there is a recommendation regarding bilge pumps? I want to replace all the bilge pumps just to be on the safe side. Had some issues with the aft bilge pump at the end of the year and as I own the boat longer and get more experience I find more of what needs to be replaced!

Would would be the recommended pumps to use? I have been told I need to make sure they are rated at 1000 gph..Is there a particular model that fits nicely in as a replacement?

Thanks in advance again for all the help!

Hello All,
Just purchased a 1991 390EC. Love the boat!! Trying to get all the electrics to work and have a question: what switch is supposed to turn on the courtesy lights that are at the steps into the main salon/under the bed in the master stateroom/guest stateroom? (4 total)
All of the bulbs are okay, but can't get those lights to turn on.
Thanks

Welcome to CSR and in this bunch of lovers of old american fiberglass! The switch is at the helm and is marked as "cockpit lights"

without looking since the the boat is in storage. On the helm, there is a row of switches on the starboard side that controls the lights. Cannot remember if it says cabin or courtesy or something like that. On mine, if I remember, it is the second switch moving left to right...

Hope that helps!

Pietro,
Thanks for your quick response. I looked at the photo gallery of Moonchild IX...beautiful!! I really like the flooring. Is it solid wood or a veneer? Also, where did you find the tambour material that you used for the door of the coffee maker compartment? I'd like to make one.

Need to replace hinges on cabinet doors in salon. Does anyone have any idea on where I might find replacement hinges? I would like to keep them as identical to whats in there now.

What was Sea Ray thinking when they put such small cleats on the 39s. Mine look like they belong on a 27 foot. Anytime I dock and run my lines on them there is little room for fender lines.
