Cosmo, I can access my masthead light by opening the overhead vent hatch, then standing on the seat next to the helm and standing up in the hatch. Mine is collapsible to allow for a little less height when needed and I can access the light directly, I assume yours is the same but might be different. So, it should be possible to change the bulb without going on top, which can be done as you suggest by walking up the windshield. Once you get the old bulb(s) out and see the markings, you should be able to find an LED version. Remember the anchor light is in the same housing so you might want to change that one as well while you're at it.Finally took possession of the boat! Had a great first weekend, but I need to replace the bulb in the masthead light. Not having much luck finding the type of bulb needed. I don't even know what brand the light is. I thought it would be listed in the parts manual, but it's not. Since it's up on the hardtop, it's not easy to just take a look at it.
I assume it's this type: https://www.amazon.com/Perko-0071DP0CLR-12-Volt-Marine-Festoon/dp/B0000AYFNC
Can any 390MY owners confirm? Also would appreciate an LED replacement recommendation.
But I want to be sure I am ready for the Labor Day weekend, so not taking any chances.
Also, is it safe to walk up on the hard top to replace the bulb? Do you just walk up the front windshield to get up there?
Thanks!
