Official 350 Thread

Has anyone replaced the cabin carpet on there 350? Mine is showing wear and the stains keep coming back.

HGM, I havent replaced our carpet but what the previous owner did was have a canvas made to completly cover the floor. So the carpet is imaculate in ours. Just for future reference. I have pondered the idea of putting in some hardwood flooring but its very low on the priority levels at this time

I have the wood for my floor already. Just trying to get the time to do the project. I didn't go for the high end flooring cause one it was so expensive and I wanted to easily replace a piece if something went wrong later on.

I have also thought about wood but seams like quite a job! I have been trying to find carpet but everything I have found in marine carpet so far is a short pile like you would find in the cockpit area. There was a thread on here where someone installed teak. It was beautiful but I haven't been able to find the thread. I have heard that is very difficult to remove the old carpet. It is not a project that I am looking forward to.

Is anyone running a Flo Scan on their 350? With the amount of fuel we burn it would be nice to optimize usage.

I know this is an old thread, I haven't been on in a long time.

I have a flow scan and have worked hard at finding the sweet spot. It is with the key off ;)

My best mpg is 1.3mpg at 1050 rpm with tabs up. This gets me around 7-8 mph and is not too bad. Anything over this is a waste of fuel.

Once on plane I get around .66 mpg running around 3300-3400 rpm I use about 34-36 gph at 22-23 mpg. I top out at 31mph and mpg is actually a bit better around .7 but will not run it long like that.

My props are bronze 17L x 16 with a sea ray cup. A friend did the 4 blade on his and said it made an improvement but I have no other details.

I run about 3200 rpm 26 mph and get about .60 to .65 mpg

After checking my 12 volt system has me confused. My batteries go down in just a few hours when on the hook. I replaced both house batteries and had the same problem. Figuring I had something pulling the system down, I stated checking amp drain with a DC amp clamp. What I found is that the entire House is being powered from the starter battery. The two parallel wired house battery is only connected to one engine. The boat is a 91 350 gas. It has the original charger. From what I can see, everything appears to be wired in its original position. The batteries can only go in one position.

I wonder if they are wired correctly, my 91 with 454's has a total of three batteries, two run the house and start one engine, one battery is on a protected circut, if I run the house batteries down, which is very rare and hasn't happened since installing new batteries, even though I often stay out on the hook with out the gen running at night but running the lights and fridge with out problem, I know not much help but I wonder if the bat cables are not connected correctly

ok need some advice, My 91 350 had a house refrigerator installed, that of course doesn't cool well do to the poor air circulation behind the frig, so I ordered a replacement frig that was a actually boat frig, to the best of my research the correct frig is a norcold DE0041, however it is to deep and will not fit, any suggestions?
I ended up building a new frame for the DE0041, it looks great and everyone thinks it was made that way :)

Doesn't look like anything has been moved. I am thinking of just reversing the batteries. Maybe reversing them at the switches

Hi guys,

Enjoy you boats, just sold mine after using it for 12 seasons. Close on it this weekend and hand over the keys.

Really liked the boat, just the right size, but time to do something else. This labor day will be the first one in 25 years that we have not been our own boat.

If I ever do get back into boating it will certainly be a Sea Ray!

Hi again,

Closed on the boat, very hard to walk away from her but I think the family that has her now will enjoy her as much as we did.

I have an extra set of bronze props they did not want. 17 x 16 with a sea ray cup, reconditioned at Lauderdale Prop. If anyone could use them please make me an offer. Contact me off group since I will not be on here much anymore, at least until I NEED another boat :) dean at cwdi dot com

Thanks
Dean

Hi All,

I still have the set of props for the 350 if anyone is interested. Please email me as I don't log in much anymore.

Dean

SOLD for $400/pair. What a deal

1990 350 DA -- What to Look For?

I have found what appears to be a mint 1990 350/370 DA with twin 494 inboards and the grey canvas and interior package. It's a two owner boat and has been meticulously maintained with all records going to back the original owner. We haven't gotten to the point of an inspection/survey yet but I can't seem to find anything wrong with it.

Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for with this model and year?

Thanks for your help!

I am starting on my third summer with my 1991 350 and could not be happier. Although mine has twin Bravo II I/O's I think you will love the boat. Lots of room, stable and rough sea capable, I am a BIG fan!
If it meets your needs I think you will enjoy it.
Keep us updated and good luck.
Bob

Looks good! really like the swim platform. Where did you find the new platform?
