Official 350 Thread

Man I have missed some stuff lately. Yes Boca if those brakets are for the rear bench seat for when you pull it out and drop down the back rests it forms a sunpad. I had similar problems with me indirect lights on the stairs as they never worked. Until one day they came on and now they don't work again. Who knows. Had the old girl out four times this year so far and all is well. Maybe the snow will stop so you guys can get out soon. Boca will be down in your area Jun 30-July 5th with 370dancer. He has a big Portofino in Sarasota that we will be out watching the boat races. Here are some pics from recent outings....

Regarding those rails that Boca Vincent is showing... They do look like seat base legs but I didnt realize that SR made a back seat that actually pulls out? I have never seen one. Mine has a dedicated seat with heavy fiberglass base. The seat cushion actually has sliders that allow it to convert to a sunpad. The seat in removable but is about 100lbs. I have it in my basement and just use deck chairs back there... makes for easier engine access anyway.

Dustin, boat looks good. You took off the stripes huh? I just redid mine. wasnt sure how it would look without them. Now I know... will post pix of my work soon.

Thanks Mark...yeah the original strips were just too much "going on" if that makes sense. I like the clean all white look with a little accent. Yes that is what I meant by the seat slides out then the back rests drop down to form a sunpad. Pretty cool feature or at least the girls like it. Actually they prefer the bow but whatever works. There is alot I want to get done but time and money are always an issue. In the next few weeks will be helping neighbor 370 do exhaust mani's and figure out a port fuel issue. It's a never ending cycle with these salt boats. Look fwd to some new pics of yours .

Thanks Wave. Never thought to look under the bench seat. I see where they clip in. Don't know that I will ever put them use though, unless someone is spending the night on it.
Yes, I love the big swim platform. Thinking about doing it sundek pretty soon.

One unit under v birth bed one in after under bench. Two units. Two stats. One control centre, two zone located in with rear ac, one pump and intake for lake water. Only primes when driving.....

Making progress, raw water pumps and new hoses are in! Got a couple of stupid questions I hope someone can help me with. In the cabin I have lights under each step coming into the cabin. they are always on. I have looked but can't find a switch anywhere? I also have lights in the bilge. Looks like at some time in the past someone had left them on and burnt the covers. I have replaced the bulbs but can not find the switch to turn them on. Thanks

My lights work on acc switch on dash. The lights on steps have a pull tab toggle on step with them.

Thank you, I found the breaker on the dash. I will look for the switch.
My lights on the steps work only from the dash breaker - the one labeled "indirect". They are always on once I set it.
Same with the bilge lights, and yes the covers on those have holes burned in them. But I should be the only one who sees that so I can live with it!

Well, after alot of sweat equity the boat is ready to go in the water. It has been so darn cold in NY/NJ that I almost didnt get everything done. Just waxed Friday for god sake! Global warming my rear! Its been an expensive season already. Things done so far:

- Wax hull below rub rail (5 hours of pain....)lol.
- New ablative bottom paint which I am still cleaning that out of my hair
- New 2" boot stripes
- Strip off painted on name (on transom) with EZ-Off oven cleaner.... Ordered new Vinyl from a place in Canada for 1/2 the cost of most I saw. I will put it on in the water since I ran out of time. Should really clean up the transom and make it look new again....
- Purchased new front Marine Air 12K BTU reverse cycle air/heat (that hurt!!!!) That is shipping monday from florida. To be installed in water unless it arrives early.
- Purchased and installed new indoor/outdoor carpet for cockpit (not real expensive, from Home depot) cut to fit and added snaps. Looks sweet!
- As stated in an earlier thread, redid the master stateroom trim pieces. Got rid of that ugly splotchy blue crap for some Navy blue trim. Whole new look
- Also did some work (topcoat) on the Avon inflatible too but thats another thread

Still to do:
- Engine tune ups
- Fuel filters (bulkhead and engine)
- Considering some LED lights pointing down under the swim platform (not in the water since its just too murky where I reside), plus I woundnt have to worry about leaks. Looks like I will be sitting at the dock alot this year with $5+ fuel prices and 30gph fuel burn.... ouch.

Way to go Mark, Sounds like alot of work so far. I have to wax mine (hoping next week) and then drop her in the water in 2 weeks. Still have to install our reupholstry work. The sad part is the zyrex bottom paint that was suppose to go on this spring has been put off till fall because the marina wants to charge me 250 bucks to move the boat 50 feet to there designated painting area. So I told them when it comes out in the fall they can put it in the paint location at no charge. I hate this nickel and dime crap the marinas pull. I think hes mad that im painting the hull and he is not making a dime on paint or labor. Oh well.......

Wavedancer... I hear ya on that nickel and dime stuff. From experience, many marinas seem to do that. In my current marina, you mainly have folks (blue collar) who do the work themselves since the "professionals" are super expensive and tack on a "travel charge" to the marina. No mechanic on premise.

Great thread!
I have a SD 350 1991 with Volvo Penta 8.1

1) Leaky windshield, especially up near where the power window opener is. - Fixed with new gaskets from Taylor made and some black silicone

Hi Mark
I need to replace my windshield gaskets, I´ve seen the screw cover foam from Taylormade
but I´did not find the gaskets for the power vent window, is it also made by Taylormade?

Well guys, I have spent the last 2 days polishing and buffing the heck out of this hull. I didnt think it would take this long but i have to say its looking almost as good as the day it first saw water. This winter was rough on the old girl as far as dirt goes. Im hoping to splash late next week or the week after. I will def post pics asap. Sad part is, the zyrex I was going to put on her has been put off till fall due to time constraints. Other than that we are installing the new reupholstry as soon as she is in the water. Is there ever an end to the honey do list????lol

Hi Peter... Jeez, I did it so long ago (2005) that I dont recall every part. I do know for sure there is a gasket for the TOP vent window. It seals up that top hinge. There was also side gaskets (which are very flexible), but I dont think there was a lower gasket where the vent meets the windshield base. I just used some generic HD/Lowes material. Hope that helps.

I am having a problem with water flow for the AC units. I started both AC units this weekend and had no water flow. I had replaced the hose from the sea cock to the strainer and to the pump. I primed the pump and strainer and got minimal flow out of the aft unit only. I replaced the impeller but had no change. I than disconnected the hose coming out of the pump and ran water from a garden hose through the units. I had good flow so there is no blockage through the units. I blew water back through the sea cock to make sure the inlet was clear. I replaced the cap seal on the strainer. If I need to replace the pump I will but I have never seen a pump loose efficiency like this.

My airs had a problem much like yours.
I have to run the boat 1/2 mile on plain to PRIME the a\c pump and lines. Then no issues.
Go figure.

I had the same prob after the winter, I have heard this is a major problem with our model. I was told to take the hose that comes off the pump and then cycle the heat/ac breifly till water shoots into the bildge. Only ran enough to get less than a glass of water, reconnected the hose and presto. water coming from front and rear ac units. wooohoo, bring on the summer. Hope this helps

Ended up being the pump. Never had a hard impeller pump go bad in this fashion.
