I think it is time to get a Official thread started for the 350. Reading the other official threads are helpful but let's have our own. I understand the 350 became a 370 in 92.

What is everything working on over the winter?
My plans are to install a new flat screen with a custom bracket that will allow it to be viewed in different areas
    New raw water intake hoses
New impellers for raw water pumps
    New stereo

I did the flat screen with swivel mount this summer against the wall (salon side) where the old tv box mounting ares was. Bonus the curtain hides the thru bolts. Now I can watch in the bed or in the salon. Stereo.....it gets something new everytime I turn around.....I'm thinking flexiteak downstairs next winter if I keep the boat....got the larger fever... Oh and I totally agree on official 350 thread.

No I never took any cause when you walk into the salon you really dont see it. the tv looks like it almost is just sitting there. The mount I used I bought off ebay. Holds it well and doesn't really move when running. the only issue is you have to sit up in the bed if you want to watch it. It has to sit low to clear the cabinet on the other side. I wished I could have hung a 42 above the mid-cabin....that would have been sweet. Then have a 22 in the fwd berth. My neighbor has a 97 370 that's what he did. It looks really good alot of tv in that boat.

The only major advise I can give you pre drill the holes and when you go to put the mount bolts in drive them slow. They tend to want to grab the upholstry and it will wrinkle it. It's a pain to get that out.

Although the only thing that I will doing over the winter is planning on how I am going to get my boat from Michigan up here to Manitoba in the Spring.
I will be paying attention to the topics here on the OFFICIAL 350 thread for when I do get my boat up here.

Oh Someday Lady I noticed your girl has stern drives....I have never met anyone who had a 350 with them. How does it handle as far as coming out of the hole and top end.....I have only ever seen one in my life that was for sale somewhere around Jersey. I knew it was an option but never seen one. There was a guy who had a 400 EC here locally a few years ago with 8.1's and Bravo II drives....That thing would fly....

I wish I could answer your questions but I am as anxious to find out as you are since I just purchased the boat in November and it is still in storage in Michigan.
I bought the boat from the original owner who told me that it handles better, docks better and will plain outrun the 330 Sundancer with V-drives that he owns in Florida.
I specifically looked for I/O's due to boating conditions here on the Red River and will report in the Spring, good or bad.

I can't wait to hear your report....I prefer docking with my v-drives just cause it's so easy....even with over sized wheels she planes out quick for a 350 but top end is only around 33mph...it was a major change going from 83mph to that...but I love my 350 lot of boat for the size....COME ON SPRING!!!!

Count me in this 350/370 club. I've had mine for 10 years now and I still love the old girl.

I know of someone who has that model with twin bravo 1 drives and tie bars to brace them. He said his would do 50+ with a pair of 385 HP high perf 454's. I think that may have been a HP upgrade option back in the day. Thats alot of speed for a boat that big. I toured his boat which was named "Magic Carpet" and resided in Catskill NY (off the hudson river). The engine room had a huge dance floor for space since there was not a tranny inside. i loved the layout in the engine room because there was also room to work from just forward of the engines. Not like ours where you have to be a contortionist to do anything. forget about repacking the stuffing boxes! sheesh! In fact, I toured that boat with my wife back in 1997 and that caused us to start looking for that model.

one comment on the flat screen in the mid-cabin.... I am not certain that this would be the best bet with kids. I have 2 and they would likely hang like little monkeys from the TV or do something stupid to it (at least my youngest would... ) LOL. Plus, who would be able to see it with the curtains closed? I was more thinking about a cockpit TV since thats where I spend alot of time anyway. The connection would be a bit challenging since the hookup is on the port and I would try to mount near the sink area. But thats a project for another day.

I am now considering freshening up the interior with new upholstery and carpet if money pans out.

Glad to see our own thread.

Have had mine for 11 years now and still think it is the perfect boat, except diesels would be nice of course :)

I did the flat screen TV a couple years ago as well. I installed the swivel arm bracket to the right side of the door, bolted into the laminate face. This allows me to turn it either way and still be able to close the curtian with the TV facing in, or out. Nice to have the extra storage space too.

The best thing I have done to the boat is the Swimplatforms.com which was like adding a room addition.

As I said earlier, I have not yet taken delivery of the boat but the original owner said it was good for 40 mph which I think is pretty good for a boat that size.
I'm glad you mentioned the engine room space. When I lifted the engine covers and saw the incredible amount of room in front of the engines I was speechless. I guess mounting the engines right back against the transom freed up a lot of space.

Not an Official 350, but rather a 350 EB.
I too have the 454/330HP with Bravo II I/O's

    Talk about speed...
I can GPS 40-41 MPH in the spring with fresh paint and a clean bottom.
Usually run around 2800-2900 RPM and average about 28 MPH
Seems to be the sweet spot.

Earlier posts will show the upgrades I have done in the past 3 years.
    22" LCD in Salon
    19" LCD in V-Berth
New Stereo with USB and Ipod jacks on the face
Relaminated the main salon table and made an additional salon table
We seat 6-8 for dinner on Saturdays
    New aft cockpit table

    Bennett Auto Trim Tabs
    New VHF Radios and Antennas
New 11 gal hot water heater
Changed out most of the engine room plastic water lines with braided stainless
Brazilian Cherry Hardwood flooring throughout interior
    Jatoba Cherry Stairs

Only thing left is to repair a bit of the canvas bimini and upper station cover.

Love the boat and the room in the engine room!!

I to can't wait to here how it performs with out drives.

I replaced the thermostats and the main bilge pump this week. Got a measurement for the raw water inlet hose. Has anyone replaced those hoses? Looks like it will be fun trying to get to the pump.

I still need to pull the props and have them done. I have minimal damage to the starboard prop. I am thinking about having them scanned at Black Dog Propellers in Stevensville Md. Has anyone had any experience with them?

i think the extra swim platform in the back is the greatest addition to the boat (which sadly I didnt do). At the time my family wanted to do alot of traveling with our boat (near canada and down to delaware bay, so I opted for davits and a larger dink with 25 hp engine... Granted it is super easy to deploy and retreive but honestly is unused now much of the year. If i had to do it over again I would definately do the extended platform route.

One topic I think we should cover in this thread might be what are the common issues + problems experienced. Let me start with some of mine:

    1) Leaky windshield, especially up near where the power window opener is. - Fixed with new gaskets from Taylor made and some black silicone
    2) Leaky hatches - Fixed by de-installing and resealing every one of the 4.
    3) Leaky side windows - patched up with silicone (i was afraid to take off these windows) I know I know...
    4) Minor rot in the rub rail near the stern. I havent addressed this yet, but there is always some brown residue from what I think is rotten wood which leaks out when sprayed.
    5) Exhaust outlets crack - typical and cosmetic. I have tried to repair but it eventually came back.

Thats just a few. I have more but will leave that for later.

Oh the damn exhaust outlets.....I can't stand the crack but most Sea Ray's do that....If anyone figures out how to fix them please post...

Only a couple nit pciky things I can think of.

The shower sump that never empties since the outlet house fills it back up when the pump turns off.

The sliding door track is getting fragile and there are none available to buy. Will have to make my own if this one breaks.

Had to repair my exhaust ports as well, but after 20 years I am ok with that.

Wish it had a more fuel efficent hull design but it is what it is.

Otherwise I have little to complain about, it is a great boat overall.

    Dean
