Mark,
I was able to force the door open and get into the cabinet. I now would like to get the door out so I could replace it. There is a false ceiling in the cabinet but I can not see how to remove it. Having a roll up door there is more convenient than installing a regular door.

yup, the rollup is a nice touch and keeps the area neat/tidy without a large door. The lower door is bulky. not sure why SR did it that way. Make both the same for asthetics. So you need to replace the tambour door? I think Pietro (that nicely restored 39'er) may have a lead on those parts. I doubt SR makes that any longer but you never know.

Oh, I might have alluded to this prior, but I am now in the market for a new FRONT reverse cycle AC unit. My existing one gave up the ghost after 20 yrs. My buddy fixes them for a living and said the compressor is dead. It had a leak, which he fixed, recharged many times... but finally i think its time to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Marine Air makes mine. I think its the 12K unit. I am thinking about keeping the 3 knob since its WAY cheaper... any thoughts on this job?

Not too hard to replace because of the room. I know it's cheaper but going to the digital Marine Air unit 12k has alot of benifits. My rear unit is digital but the front is 3-knob. I am looking into replaceing the electrical box and with digital thermostat. I mostly run the back one cause it's digital and it is cheaper on the utilities. Shop around for the unit a friend just replaced the old style in his 340 for the new digital and parts labor was around 4500-5000k mark if memeory serves.

Pulled the raw water pumps yesterday. I was mistaken, they are not the combo fuel pump units. Tough location to get to but not impossible. Took about an hour for the first one but less than a half hour for the second. I will also be replacing the Raw water hoses. I am thinking about adding a 'T' in the line coming out of the strainer to make it easier to winterize.

Just was wondering why you wanted to do the T line on the raw water hoses. They are not great to get to the seacock but don't you worry that if you just close the T-line that the water you leave in the stainer could freeze and bust. That is where I have seen most of them happen. Saw one this year engine winterized but left seacock open :)huh:) and down she went. Just wondered if it was more for maintenence or just for winterizing.

Making progress, raw water pumps and new hoses are in! Got a couple of stupid questions I hope someone can help me with. In the cabin I have lights under each step coming into the cabin. they are always on. I have looked but can't find a switch anywhere? I also have lights in the bilge. Looks like at some time in the past someone had left them on and burnt the covers. I have replaced the bulbs but can not find the switch to turn them on. Thanks

ok I got my 91 350 sundancer, first question, the a/c/heat pump is needing replaced, any idea of the GPH required I am looking at one from west marine that say its made for engine compartment but doesn't list gph, it does however look like the right one, any thoughts, also the cable was working fine before we took it out the first time, brought it back and now no cable, I hooked the TV to the box out side via the cable going into the boat and it works, appears its in the boat some where, any one have any idea how the tv cable is ran and where I can look to track down the break in the line?

Dustin,
To winterize I puled the hose off of the strainer, hooked an extension to it and sucked anti-freeze in. plan would be to close the sea cock, open the t and place a hose from the T to the bucket for antifreeze. After closing the T, I would clean the strainer, open the sea cock and fill the strainer with antifreeze. I winterize the boat out of the water.

HGM, I have a similar issue but in reverse. First off, mine has a small push breaker that says "Bilge Lights" It is located along with all the other 12v breakers on the lower right side of the dash. The lights have these el cheapo plastic covers that degrade over time. I doubt they were left on, they just got old. Mine show similar signs along with some of the cockpit lights under the gunwales. My stair lights dont go on (not sure which is worse!). :) I never seemed to get around to tracing where they go to. My asumption is that they "might" go to the accessory breaker? Just not sure. I'd love to be able to turn mine on for mood lighting.

Oh, just about to pop for that new AC unit I was talking about a while back. Although its supposed to snow tomorrow in NJ/NY area so I am in no great rush. :( The 12k marine air reverse cycle units are under $2000, so I am not real unhappy. Just slightly unhappy... LOL.... As for the electric bill.... I dont care since the marina picks up that tab. I just pay one flat price.

Mark,
I didn't see that breaker but will look for it. I did find a breaker 'indirect lights' on the right side of the breaker panel. It does work the lights so I can turn them off. Spent last weekend with a buffer and Buff Magic, this weekend they are talking snow!
Thanks

yeah, ditto here for us in NY/NJ area. Last Friday it was 78 degrees, so I stripped off my bootstripes and ordered some new ones. I was expecting decent weather, but instead we will be 37-39 and freezing! Hoping for a warm weekend so I can complete that task and wax the hull.

Alright, so I am tired of trying to figure this out on my own. Can you 350 experts tell me what I have here:
1: I found these 2 U shaped bars down in the ER. I'm sure they will clean up nice, but after that I don't know what to do with them! Looks like a matching pair, one of the ends has a clip on it.
2: I have 2 post inserts in a line. The 1st is there when I open the transom door and the next in the transom platform. Should I have something to use these with? I saw that some people had a grill mounted on their platforms, but just out of the door doesn't really make sense to me. The one in the base of the door I have no idea!

Vince,
Haven't seen anything like those frames. I do not have those mounts in my door way or my swim platform. I gave been on a couple other 350's and have not seen them. Don't think they are factory.

Those are the rear seat braces for when you pull the rear bench seat foward to keep the stress off the fiberglass frame. Slide the rear bench seat foward and you will see where they mount under the bench.

Ok new project, anyone replace the fuel guage sending units in there tanks? Do I have to pull the tanks to do this, I found the access panel in the rear birth but the sending unit is not where it will pull straight up,where would I get the correct sending unit?

I can tell you where the port sending unit access panel is. Its in the storage locker on the port side right before you go down into the cabin. There is an appx 5 inch dia access panel in there to pull the sending unit out. I changed mine out last year. I dont know about the starboard side. Hope that helped and good luck getting the port one because it is very tight and not alot of fun.

Thanks wave dancer, where did u get the sending unit from? Did you have ta change the gauge as well?

My marina actually had the sending units in stock. Just pull the one from the tank and take it to your local marina and they can match a new one up to yours. I didnt have to change the gauge. Fairly easy job because its like 6 screws and presto. Tuff part is getting a fat hand to bend down in the hole and working blind and hopefully you dont drop your wrench or it will sit in the hull for eternity.
