The condensate drain hose from the air conditioner runs through that bilge area to the shower sump. If it is leaking, it would dump water into that area.Getting some h2o in the center floor locker areas, where the shower sump box is located, and the floor locker forward of that.. Over 2" deep... Pretty puzzled.. Any ideas ? Looks like left over from last fall, missed looking when she was put away.. Have wet Vac'd out, cleaned up with Clorox wet wipes, staying dry...
You may want to PM Frank W. I'm not sure that he monitors this thread regularly.Frank,
I am looking for this new rubber windshield screw cover. Could you please send me your contact info for the dealer you word with?
Thanks
Just purchased a '99 330 with twin 7.4 454 mag MPI's. Is a closed cooling system common on these models? Any advantage/disadvantage to this system? Also, now that I have the boat in my marina in jack stands and have done its first wash and wax where I can really see the boat up close, it appears that the top deck, above the rub rail is an arctic white and the hull, below the rub rail is an off-white like sand colored. The boat is in very good shape and was just waxed. Is this even possible? I'm hoping this is just an optical illusion but when I was on the ladder at the height of the rub rail the top deck appeared much whiter than below the rub rail.
Am I seeing things?
Looking for a late 90's 330. I see some came with 5.7's, most with 7.4's. Any feedback on the difference in performance? Also, during my search, anything in particular to look out for?? prices all over the place from low $30k's to upper $50k. Thanks. Gary
Just read this thread. Lots of great insight. That includes discussion about smallblock vs. Bigblocks. Great boats.
Ours was shipped on fri. We purchased the same one. Can't wait to get this installed!
This subject comes up now and again. I am not certain but, I believe some of the fuel injectected motors did experience this problem due to insufficient rise on the exhaust. I think spacers were added to prevent the backflow of salt water into the engine as you come off plane. More tech savvy members can clarify this.I'm seeing lots of reports of water ingestion in 330's and 310's. Is this a common problem with these? How have all of you owners dealt with this issue?

Certainly not more tech savy by any stretch of the imagination, but I'll add what I've found over the years. Having had the 330 with 7.4L carb engines at 310 hp. I have heard stories of water ingestion on these engines but I am skeptical on exhaust being the cause, unless it was from the mixer elbows as that is where the exhaust mixes with raw water and they were never replaced, or owner came down off plane too quickly all the time..? My point I don't believe there is an exhaust issue on the lower hp engines model year up to around 98 ish. The issues that I've read about happened on the 380 hp horizon engines in the 98
I've read a lot about it, but never have known anyone to experience the problem. Like I said, I've owned many Sea Rays in the past including 2 with inboards or v-drives. Just make me unsure of going with another Sea Ray.
Thanks, and let me know if you have experienced anything like this.

Thanks!I have a 97 with the original log mufflers. I have owned it since 2010 and have never had an issue. I don't baby it. My understanding is that it was the 380hp Horizon 7.4l that had a more aggressive cam profile that were prone to water ingestion due to a combination of valve timing, low risers, and the log muffler setup. If you are looking at an almost 20 year old boat with original engines, then that ingestion problem is simply not applicable.
