Official 330 Sundancer Thread

morning all,

I got a new glowmex antenna and started installing it. has anyone ran wires from the arch to the cabin? was thinking of going down port side arch? has anyone had success?

It's possible. It's a pain in the ass, but possible. I've done it twice, once to run new coax from the shore outlet to a DirecTV box in the TV cubby, and once to run Cat-6 from my Rogue Wave wifi antenna on the arch to the TV cubby. Both cables follow the same path.

From the arch run the cable horizontally about even with the top of the hull forward. There is a wall in the storage compartment in front of the passenger seat that the cable will pass over before turning 90 degrees and heading straight down. If you reach over the wall, you will be able to feel the back side of the upper storage compartment in the head.

In the storage compartment under the sink in the head, there is a narrow board serving as the aft wall of the compartment held in place by a couple of screws. Remove them and you should be able to get the end of the wire you fished down from the cockpit. You can run the cable across the floor with the water pipes through the bulkhead at the bow end of head's storage compartment.

Remove the refrigerator. There are several screws perhaps with screw head covers in the flange of the fridge. Remove the screws, slide out the fridge and be amazed at the wasted space behind the fridge and galley cabinets. I've joked you could hide a body in that space.

From here you should be able to run the wire to aft section of the bulkhead where the TV cubby resides. I was able to feed the wire into the bottom of the storage cabinet below the TV cubby, but ended up drilling a 1/2" hole in the back corner of the shelf to feed the wire up. Good thing I went large with the hole through the shelf as a couple years later I used the same hole for the Cat-6 to feed my wifi router.

Hope this helps.

Severio,
I ran Directv coax up the port side of my boat when I added the M1 dish. I did not follow the same path as Pete. I ran the wire down the port side of the arch. I pulled the cockpit fridge & ran the wire fwd through a channel in the carpet in the storage compartment fwd of port seat in cockpit. I pulled the Microwave & was able to snake the wire from the cockpit to this area. From there I went fwd, the port cabinet interior lining actually had a zipper in it. I got the wire to the bulkhead just fwd of the galley sink then had to fish it down into the compartment that holds the TV. I'm not sure what you will need to do to actually get it to the glomax amplifier but I am sure you will figure it out. Good Luck

thanks was thinking of that route. You have to pull the freezer to get the wires out of the arch?

I have one of those poll type snakes where you can keep screwing on lengths. was going to try that and see where I end up.

I heard your close to me? I just moved to Leeward cove

Pulling my cockpit fridge was super easy. I just needed to remove the door to clear the helm seat base. Then you can feed it right down & easily find the channel fwd in the carpet in the port side locker.
Yes, I am close to you. I am in Baypoint Marina (Tabats on some charts still) in Bluepoint.

I just stopped by during lunch a im totally bummed. I pulled the ice machine and yes lots of space behind it. I ran a snake into the carpeted compartment and I had issues getting out from there. I tried following the wiers that left but kept getting blocked. I checked the bathroom and found no access to the area. I removed the microwave and found the back wall isn't removable. that area is all sealed????

Really? I was able to run a snake right thru. I have like a 10' flexible metal stake. The back of mine was not sealed. I had 2 galvanic isolators mounted back there.

Todd,

I finally got it done. I went in back wall of the cabinet and unzipped the pounch, I than ran the rigid snake back to the aft and it came out under the sink in the cockpit. I turned it all on and I picked up about `13 channels cbs being the main.

Has anyone replaced the navigation lights on the bow with anything besides the Perko 0253 that came on there?

Mine are so discolored from the sun baking them through the years that I can't stand to look at them anymore.

-If you look on Perko's website, there is supposedly a chrome version of that light , but I can't find anywhere online that actually has it in stock. There is also a 0653 that is supposed to be an LED version of that light, but I can't see where anyone actually sells them (or that Perko ever actually produced them)

Chrome 0253

I can always just purchase the white version of the 0253 as a drop-in replacement, but I would like to be LED since every other light on my boat is already updated to LED.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone has used another brand that might fit the existing screw holes.

If I have to, I can always epoxy the old holes and drill new ones.

Can someone measure the anchor locker hatch? I need to order new gasket material and can't get down to my boat right now. Just need all three sides, so I can order enough gasket, I'm thinking 4 feet should do it, but want to make sure.

Thought I might be able to get it off of the parts manual , but
- the gasket doesn't show the length needed
- the listing for the hinge shows a 96" hinge......pretty sure that hatch isn't 8 feet long, haha.
Guess you were just supposed to order a huge hinge and then cut it to length.

OK I have a 1995 330 express. Does anyone know where to get OEM v-berth upholstery? I have the Arctic white/Black-Tan scheme. Thank You

That could prove to be a tough one. I'd try calling Sea Ray first. If that doesn't work you could try PMing "Capt. Rusty Higgins" on this forum but I haven't had much luck with that lately, maybe your's will be better! Good Luck!!

I know I've seen it on this forum and thought in this post but after looking through for hours figured I should just ask! Does none know the whereabouts of the post with info on ordering replacement parts (trim, gaskets, screen etc) for the porthole windows? We have a small leak and just cleaning the seal didn't work. Thanks!

I believe this is where I ordered mine from:
http://pompanettellc.com/bomar/

I just gave them the size & shape of mine & they told me what to order. Sorry, I don't remember the PN. I did buy the retro-fit kit so I have the pop-in screens now. I think it was about $25 a window.

any info about the shrinking windshield gasket?
Like what? Where to get it? There are several threads & other info on this.
The OEM is TaylorMade. You used to be able to purchase it directly like I did but, now I believe that you have to get it through Marinemax. Some guys did the cheapo way out & cut down foam pipe Insulation & jammed that in the slot but I don't think that it had very good longevity.

yeah I read that tread with the foam. when I got the boat surveyed they said it was a 20 part from the dealer. I joked with him and said u cant get anything for 20

TaylorMade has redesigned the foam screw cover. The replacement is extruded rubber, not foam, that snaps into place and provides a much nicer finished look without the shrinkage. Due to Sea Ray's vendor agreement, TaylorMade will no longer sell direct to customers; you have to purchase the replacement from a Sea Ray dealer.

If your local dealer isn't cooperative, I have posted an alternative on CSR a couple of times. If you can't find it, PM me and I'll send you the contact info for a dealer that is happy to have TaylorMade drop ship the screw cover to you.
