Lake Michigan Gathering

Thanks Boltman
As I said, still working out the bugs and getting to know the boat.
Quite a bit different from 1989 340 DA I had previously.
Repo's usually have owner's that neglected maintenance.
But overall a very clean and strong boat.
Got it late in the season
Only got to put about 30 hours on with 12 of it coming up river to Hammond (home port last year)
Club Sea Ray has been a wealth of information and ideas.
Just need the time and money like everyone else around here.

Anybody out there have a tanker truck that can 'hop scotch' up the lake with me on the way up?

Thanks boltman, appreciate you calling her.

Will put it on the calendar and when we make our summer plans will plan around it. Should be fun! I can taste the food at Pearl's now . . .

Count 'Wonderful Life' in. Thanks for taking the time to contact the Harbormaster (Harbormistress?). This is shaping up to be a great outing.

"Lurker"/SRO Refugee here, we love the idea of the goup gathering ! Depending on timing we would love to join in. We usually spend a week-10days in Charlevoix(house& big boat house on Round Lk). Elk Rapids may divert :smt021 our plans/ Frankfort definetly a great point  for us to at least meet during the journey. Keep us posted

great more people

Octopus great hearing from you, yes stay tuned for more exciting news and information on this Colosal great Lakes gathering in Elk Rapids  You won't want to miss this summers main Event.

Oh post a few pics of your boat when you can, I would Love to see that Dancer for sure.

We have Octopus IV coming all the way from Chicago on his 38- Sounds like the makings for a bigger gathering than any other CSR group. I want to thank Boltman for calling the Marina 'cause the noise from the SeaRays is going to be louder than the poker-run guys. When I first read that the poker run guys were going to be in "our " marina, I was not wild about that- I can't stand the noise- but if we have enough SR's there we won't have to worry about it. Just don't start those things up next to me @ 8:00 am except if your going bye-bye!

I'm sure most of us have some good audio/stereo equipment on our boats, (and we can hear them underway) so we just fire them up on the same station!!!

local boys

Petep, I have been assured that this Poker run is Not an offshore power boat event, Also I was there last year when this was going on, its a bunch of Local Yahoos that get together and just have fun with the boats that they have, many are cruisers and whatever they can find laying near their garage to get on the water, it's a quiet event for all. And Yes we are going to have a Great Gathering of all Sea Ray boats up there, Might even have to bring some Flags...who knows...

We've got the date on our calendar. I'm planning to leave Elk Rapids after the get together and head to Charlevoix, Boyne City, Petoskey, or some other points around the Little Traverse Bay area, maybe even Beaver Island. Fellow cruisers are welcome to join in.

Also, I just made reservation for Mackinaw Island for the week of July Fourth. Second through the sixth, I think. Anyone going to be in that area during those times?

Thanks Boltman for taking care of this. By the way, we found out last summer that Pearl's takes reservations for large parties. We cut to the head of an otherwise 2 hour wait by discovering that!

I have a friendly relationship with the owner of the local Sea Ray franchise, as I'm sure Salty Dog does also. I will tell him that a group of Sea Rayer's are going to be in Elk Rapids. He may want to run a demo over or possibly get some Sea Ray promo items together for us.

The Miss T crew is looking forward to it!

Wow

Great Tc, The Sea Ray Promo items Would be sweet, and the more the marryier for sure, We could really expand this and take over Elk Rapids for the weekend, I can see them Now Sea Ray Flags all over the place...Ha Ha ha. Yeah that F450 My wife has vowed to get me one when they come out, that 6.4 liter deisel Engine is going to be great...It has a 24,000 pull rating with that set up as well, We're going to the show tomorrow for sure, I can't wait Talk to you later, And oh mention the Sea Ray get together for every one.

As We Near the Dead Line

Gentlemen, As we near the Deadline to register, I will send out another post to all, with all the information that the Harbor Master needs from you all (ie) Boat length, name, Credit Card numbers....
So we can gaurantee slips for each Boat that is coming, I have marked in on my calendar and I have put it in my Outlook remiender, so it pops up a week before the deadline..

It's great to see more people lining up for this event, and as we go there will be more and more coming onboard the site forum as well.

Robert

Boltman, Sounds good-thanks for the reminder shoutout coming up in the spring. Good Idea as it will give us all a handle on the numbers. We should also throw out a challenge to all other regions of CSR that our GREAT LAKES "chapter" will have more boats than any other! I have read other posts that there is talk of a Florida rendezvous and We would love to go to that one but I would need a big trailer huh!

Boltman,

Next time you communicate to the ER Harbor Mistress, could you please tell her that Miss T formally requests her "usual" slip in the harbor - #213.

Just wanted to get dibs on it before any of you beat me to it!!

Thanks!

Jeff

Saving spots

Oh Tc410 I will see what I can do about getting your slip 213 saved for you, that will put you a long way from Us though, we dock at 57, all the way to the end of the docks near the Dam and We have grass to do a cook out, but I think we will be using the pavillion with this gathering for sure. Where is 213 I can look on the site though if I need to. I will be contacting Cheryl soon to just to re-connect with her to keep her posted.

The big Boats are going to be away from the smaller ones I'm sure. Their slips are categorized by length I believe.
Salty Dog, Wonderful Life, Petep, Octopus IV and you are all over 40 feet, I think that's all the big boats that are coming, forgive me if I have forgotten anyone, better yet people SPEAK UP!!!!!! Booyah.

213 is the last slip on the main pier...

Boltman
Don't forget the 'southerner'
My 350 EB is about 37 loa
Still planning to try and get up there!
Dan

This is sounding pretty good. We were going to ask for slip 204, we had it last fall for 4 weeks and became friends with the neighbors.
