Guess we may need to narrow it a bit, was going to say Great Lakes Gathering but that coves a lot of water.

I'm interested in seeing what we can put together. Yes Elk Rapids is a haul but not just for me. I'm sure there are others that will take an interest in this - hint hint Wonderful Life!

So, lets see who is interested and then start to see where. While I love Frankfort it would be nice to not be in our home port.

I can't believe I'm going to do this but what the heck - Role Call

Oh, there it is. Unless there are two. Nah. (Good old Mapquest)Never been there. We usually come up via Frankfort to Bay Harbor/ Petoskey/Harbor Springs once a year.
If you want to see lots of SRs get together, try something between Chicago and Milwaukee. Like maybe; hum, Kenosha/Racine.

I'm here

Paul you know I'm flexible, But I would like to keep it to Eastern Lake Michigan....You know the Michigan side. But whatever everyone chooses I'm ok with. I'll find a suitable ramp somewhere.

Salty Dog, Elk Rapids sounds like a great spot. We were hoping to stop there on our way to Mackinaw. Grand Haven/Spring Lake is another good spot. There are others that are good like Saugatuck and South Haven. Getting together is a good idea.

We've not been to Elk Rapids for several years, but are always in the area in July. We may go to the North Channel in July but will be in Harbor Springs, Leland, Frankfort and "wherever." I'm crossing Milwaukee off my list this year because we would need to buy fuel while there. They sell e10 only and I don't want to risk having to change fuel filters in the middle of Lake Michigan in rough water after mixing incompatable fuels. Other than Milwaukee, any up north location in July would be good.

Hello

Hello Wonderful Life, good to see you on again.

Any of those Destinations sound great Elk Rapids is a way's for you to go though, but Hey what are Boats for. Needs to be late in July if Possible, just not around the 4th of July.. Keep talking Guys we're getting there ....

I think we should have it where the majority of members in the great lakes are from. Mi,In,Il,or Wi. That way it won'tbe a flop. I think Michigan is kind of a central point for the great lakes
Just thinking out loud. what do you think?

Saugatuck or Spring Lake

My wife Doreen and I would love to be a part of this. We live in Iowa, but plan to spend a week in or around Saugatuck come August, trailering the boat and getting a slip for the week.

Could do Spring Lake, but farther north is more than we would like to drive, but then again meeting you all and hanging out together would be a draw.

I grew up in Grand Rapids. Hope you don't mind a UM grad who bleeds maize and blue, even though I live in Iowa.

Eric, My wife grew up in Iowa City. Her father taught in the College of Medicine and we are both U of I grads. Our sons graduated from the U of M so we get plenty of the maize and blue treatment. :smt021 SBW

sbw1 Does the name Francis X. Cretzmeyer mean anything to you?

I didn't know him although he may have been coaching track when I was in Iowa City in my undergraduate/grad school days. I'm sure my father in law knew him.

My Dad went to Iowa. FC married my Mother's cousin. When Iowa track came to Northwestern we would all get together on the porch for a beer. Long, long ago.

Gathering

New to the Club Sea Ray and would be interested in a little trip this coming summer. Currently down at the South end of the lake and would hope to find something within 100 miles or so.
Thanks

Keeping in mind

Keeping in mind the Big 420's, I suggest Ludinton Marina, or something as centralised as that location. Maybe even Manistee would be viable to all.

Daniel I know this is a long way still for you to travel, but it's worht the ride and besides isn't that why you bought that beautiful boat anyways....?

What do you think Gentelmen? Lets hear from everyone .

For fun go to Jacobson's
Marina in Frankfort. Rent a car from Don's and go boondocking.

Frankfort may be a little far for those of us down on the south side of the lake. Ludington down to Spring Lake would be about a halfway point for those in the northern half and those in the southern half. And if there are any coming from Chicago it could be a straight shot for them too, and about the same mileage.
Are you planning this for a long weekend or more time than that?
Thanks

Every year we take 10 days to two weeks and go from Racine to the Harbor Springs/Petosky/ Bay harbor area. Typical stops depending on our weather driven routes, can include Sheboygan, Sturgeon Bay, Sister Bay, Fish Creek, Saugatuck, Luddington, Frankfort, Mackinaw City, Manistee (UGH!). We never have gone to Beaver Island or into Traverse Bay - maybe this year.

Frankfort or even T.City or Lake Charlievoix. Any Guess on numbers? Sounds like fun! We cruise with our dealer up north around the end of July - 1st of August-sounds like we might need to stick around up north for the CSR Group........Maybe even leave the boat up north and go back to Detroit for a little work in-between if it's different weeks.
